IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | I raced this guy 2 times last night. My buddy taking the video sucks at taping, the first run didn't even turn out very well. So, sorry for the shakiness. I was expecting this guy to be an easy kill, turned out to be a very good run. My mods are below. We talked after the race and the guy in the Vette couldn't believe how well I hung with him. He has a completely built 383 w/ rods, pistons, etc. pushing out a little over 500 hp. He was just in absolute awe that he didn't smoke me. After he told me what kind of power he was making I was the one in awe that I hung like I did. No BS! http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...EzZGZkMzF5NTQx This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. Last edited by 2theMAX; 09-05-2005 at 10:50 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Does he have anything else other than a built 383? If not, it's very unlikely he's pushing out 500+ hp. More like 415-470 at the crank. But he didn't pull on you like he should have. I have driven a 383 vette, looks like the same year as that one in the vid. |

| Junior STI Driver | 500 HP I think not! I have a friend with a 99 C5 with full exhaust, X-pipes, retune, headers, intake, and new gears and he puts down 345rwhp and 340 rwtq and I put down 298 awhp and 327 awtq and he pulls me harder then that guy did you. That guy would be lucky to have 325 rwhp if that. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | All I am going off of is what the guy told me. I thought that either his car weighs a s load or he doesn't have as much power as he is saying. I still had fun though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Dont discount the bad driver factor. If he did not down shift or down shifted only one gear, he could punk out in acceleration like that and make that kind of HP. I know my mustang which makes 416 rwhp needs to see some RPM in order to take off, but then, that is a supercharged 306 and centrifugal superchargers need rpm to make full boost. So it could be he just cant drive it. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | A 383 with a good cam, a good set of heads, and a good tune should put out 425hp to the rear wheels ... give or take. I was putting out 400rwhp in my camaro with a 350ci SBC (non-LS1). After watching the video it is clear something is wrong with his setup. My 400whp camaro would EASILY dust my STI from a highway roll. This vette guy clearly falls into the group of vette owners who talk trash and have no idea what they are running. ... again, a well built and well tuned 383 will easily dust a stage 2 STI from a roll. For that matter, a well built and tuned 350 will easily dust a stage 2 STI from a roll. I know because I had one ... and now have a well tuned stage 2 STI. There is absolutely no comparison - and you are kidding yourself if you think there is one. This vette guy CLEARLY had something wrong with his setup. It was crazy slow. t |

| Junior STI Driver | why all the hate towards 2themax? he is just reporting what he was told and proud of his car for keeping up with a corvette which cost close to 20-25g more than his sti. so what if the guy couldnt drive his car or the guy lied in his power bragging shpeil, it is a cool video that kept all of us busy watching it for 45 seconds. cool video! |

| STI Driver | The 2nd race looked very even with him pulling a little bit. Looked like you even got the initial jump. Too bad you couldn't go for a bit more on that race. Very close, but yeah if he had 500 horses it would not have been that close. |

| Senior STI Driver | nice videos man,the races were very close.and as far as people getting red assed and bashing you, screw it,you just went by what you heard.so all in all very good races and that guy as far as im concerned he made an ass of himself for saying his vette was 500hp.lol and if it really did have 500hp,he really really made a dumb **** of himself. |
