| STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | First off the STi, wasnt pushing it in 2nd until he saw the SS coming. And second racing from a roll isn't real racing. "Racing from a roll is like masturbating, even if you win it still isn't sex." And third I would LOVE to see a SS race a STi on a road course. That I would pay money for. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 | Here's my quick input (wife wants to play NWN so I have to make this quick): Stock vs stock, with 1 person in each car, we know that a properly running STi will walk a Cobalt SS, even if only by a car or two (being generous to the Cobalt here.) What some of those members aren't getting is that the Cobalt had 4 passengers (even if we assume 3 + driver.) That makes the car heavier than the STi. Less power, same or slightly higher weight, and worse gearing means you are going to lose. In my opinion, it looked like the STi really started to walk away hard before the guy braked. He probably didn't even realize someone was trying to race him (who starts a race from behind like that?) I have nothing against the Cobalt SS but that video was just stupid. No Cobalt, with 4 people in it, is going to hang with a STi that has 1 or 2 people. It's just not going to happen. Lastly, anyone else notice how any time people compare cars, they always quote the opponent's worst numbers against the favoured car's best? Oh and comparing Dyno Dynamics numbers to a DynoJet...lol. Not to mention even comparing dyno numbers, of different cars, on different dynos... Once again, I have nothing against the Cobalt SS but that video and thread are just stupid. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 | ok, this isn't a scientific analysis or anything... but look at the timestamps on the video... supposedly its a race from a 20mph roll and shutting down at 85mph. when the video starts, you hear the engine rev and the timestamp says 10:23.48 am, i can't tell exactly from the guages, but it looks like he shut down at exactly 10:24.00am. so, thats a 12 second run, from a 20mph roll, and he only made it to 85mph??? I'm pretty sure an STi with a horrible driver can beat that... |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2003 | haha he def wasn't racing bro.... look at the car when he shifts look how much of a big pause he makes in between the shifts he was taking his time shifting and most likely shifting around 5kish. thats what it looks like to me just by looking at the way his car is moving. Yet if it is a WRX than he is prob redlining it and shifting really slowly.... most likely a bad driver or just toying with the guy in the cobalt. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 | My wife thought the video was funny. She even mentioned that the "STi" looked like it kept slowing down so the Cobalt could catch up, and then speeding away. She loved the "This is sooo going on the internet! This is sooo going on the internet! I had the car and the guy!" She was like, "Why does this guy want to put a video of his piece of sh*t getting blown off the street on the internet?" |
