I did trade the 8, I did get a WRX, but I got rid of it. I don't know how the 2001 Spec-C got in my profile, I don't ever remember setting it to that.

From what I've seen, and from some of the things I've read an EVO is faster on the top end, so saying that an EVO would walk by a car lenght or two, is by no means admitting that the STI is faster from the roll than the SS.

I don't care what you do with your spare time, thats your business.

It's all relative dude, a stock cobalt can give many cars a run for their money, doesn't make it any better or worse. Theoretically, a Cobalt Supercharged could give an M3 a run for their money, is that a reason not to buy the BMW? ANYWAYS just drive the damn car and enjoy it.

It's nuts, in my opinion, because most of us can't make whimsical purchases. I guess if you didn't take a huge hit after one month of ownership it isn't too bad. Still, my wife would have my nuts on a pike if I ever did that.

Anyhow, I'm heading to the drag strip for the first time with the STi either today or tomorrow. We'll see if I trap over 100mph; I'm just above sea level, run 94 octane only, and I'm decent at shifting. If I can pull 2 - 2 1/2 car lengths on an RSX-S w. I/RH/E/K-Pro (that trapped 98mph), starting from 60km/h, I don't think a stock Cobalt will fair much better.

You'll beat up on that car pretty badly from a dig, no doubt about it!

Personally I think you get what you pay for , if you want a car that is somewhat fast(in a straight line line) and doesn't cost as much as a STI then go for it , but in the next 5-10 years from now which car is going to be still on the road and retain its value better ? Subaru has if not the best reliability rate then one of the best on the road today ! And although the STi is freakin awesome in a straight line(when driven decently) , its a rally/auto-x car at heart. Theres simply more than 1 way the STi can be measure , there is now way the cobaltSS can compare but on the drag strip , stock vs. stock it still doesn't measure up .

I'll just say what everyone's thinking:

If you own an STi and have lost to or are scared of a cobalt, trade your STi in for a station wagon, because you are GAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

If you want to own a Chevy that will beat an STi, buy a Z06.

i just talk to a guy with SS and his car seems very promising. he gave me good feedback and what the car can do. its a very potent car.

however he admitted that SS can't beat STI. he even said it will keep up with sti, if SS was modded. but not stock to stock. but its not bad for money, i gotta give them on that

STI is very hard to drive car, in terms of drag, i remember i had hard time driving it when i first got. there is more shifting involve. so with bad driver it might loose to any car on the road.

As for the first video, definitly the car is not sti, but also don't think its a rs either. wrx and ss will be pretty much even match.

second video with "real" sti, it clearly shows that the guy can't drive for **** by looking at what he did at end of the video

let say that ss can beat or keep up with STI, do you really believe that chevy will built a car that is faster than camaro z28 or corvette? because sti certainly can. now think about that

hahahaha, wow @ that guy on that 2nd vid with the white STi. Hot Import Nights sticker - check. Ghetto outfit - check. Dropping back 1/4 car length on a shift - check. Worst STi launch ever - CHECK.
