| Professional STI Driver Feedback Score: 3 reviews | I came across this on streetfire, and it seems to indicate that the car in the original video might actually be an STI. I don't know the complete story behind this, but it looks like the SS can hang with an STI from a roll, and under some circumstances actually beat it. I'm shocked, a little embarrassed, but willing to admit I might have been wrong. See Here Last edited by Pkskull77; 09-28-2005 at 08:40 PM.. |

Speaking of Cobalt's, there was a horrific crash involving one today on our major highway (401). Not sure if the guy was speeding (or if it was even a Cobalt SS) or not but a bad lane change vs. a transport truck is never a good thing: http://www.pulse24.com/News/Top_Stor...8-008/page.asp Edit: just watched the video. It looks like they started at 60mph or so. Yes it looked like the Cobalt SS kept up. If that STi is stock that really isn't the best speed. Wtf is up with people starting from 60mph or greater? The other thing is how many fricken gauges does that guy have?! Lastly, launching like that would scare me. That looks like one really good way to bust an axle or something else. I wonder if that Cobalt is stock...I doubt it. Last edited by Digitalfiend; 09-28-2005 at 09:23 PM..

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 | Just did a check on CobaltSS.net and .com. Hmmm. Many, many, timeslips are showing 95-98mph traps. So, if the STi traps 102mph, how does a Cobalt with 4 people hang? Bah, I've got to stop posting. |

Mustang gts and bullets are no competition. With any amount of mods the cars aren't even close. Cobras and SS's are faster stock. |

After watching all these Cobalt videos, I definitely know one thing...they sound hideous. Eww.

A stock STI will have a lot of trouble with a Cobalt SS Supercharged, therefore the car in the original video might have been and STI. Last edited by Pkskull77; 09-29-2005 at 08:25 AM..

It's great that so many cars are getting increased horsepower. It's just unfortunate when people say, "oh I paid $10k less and can keep up with you in a straightline starting from 100mph." I personally can't wait to see a Cobalt SS on a road course or autox. I'm curious how they handle (in real life, not according to a magazine.)
