very true that comment was pretty ignorant..

cobalt pos:
205hp
let's assume 1% loss to the wheels
203 whp
so that's 203/(2800+160*3) = 0.0619 hp/lbm

sti:
300hp
now let's assume 30% loss to the wheels
210whp
so that's 210/(3200+160) = 0.0625 hp/lbm

but really, how many STi's dyno at 210whp... and how many cars have 1% drivetrain loss?? these numbers are retardedly generous for the cobalt, and yet the STi still beats it for hp/lb ratio.. what more can one ask for?

I have a 2003 cobra, stock except for exhaust and intake. I have raced my friend in an sti from 55 to 105 MPH and we were dead even.

haha, I love looking at cobalt and srt4 forums and seeing BS posts about how they are faster than STi's.

If you think an STi has no top end or rolling power, you haven't been in or driven one. The typical car I am told has top end is crap like Mustangs and those are absolutely no problem from a roll, low or high speed. Research helps avoid comments that are just outright wrong.

i've driven one and been in one. i'm not saying that it is extremely slow up top. the sti has great low to mid range power but it falls up top making it hard to get a car like the RSX type S off your @ss...still being able to pull a W. sorry if you have different experiences than mine. i live in Cali with cheap cali 91 oct. the USDM STI motor is a great motor but in stock form the top end needs a bit of help. i have a STI S/B hybrid swap in MY04 wrx and it's wonderful.

You are kidding, right? I can't count the number of hondas I made look like they were tied to a tree, down low, up top, and everywhere inbetween. And that includes RSX type S (they in particular never seemed to learn).

I met up with a local RSX driver (used to own one myself) and did a test with his 02 RSX-S w. I/RH/E/K-Pro (untuned). From a roll I beat him by 2-3 cars. This was a pretty modified RSX. A stock RSX-S would get dusted from a roll. Pit a bolt-on STi vs bolt-on RSX-S and the STi still comes out on top. Now a turbo RSX is another story.

i'm not going to argue. just enjoy your cars. i'm not degrading or trying to diss the STI in anyway. shoot i own a WRX and would love a STI. based on a friend's experience , which owns a STI and other local STI owner's experience plus mine..i am lead to believe otherwise.
