IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | Well I just got a copy of Sony Vegas and I'm still learning how to use it. So for now I've just uploaded the non-edited chunks of in-car footage. Session 2 (Youtube): Make sure you click "watch in high quality" Session 2 (HD Version): Not impressed with Viddler Session 3 Part 1 (Youtube): Make sure you click "watch in high quality" Session 3 Part 1 (HD Version): Coming Soon Session 3 Part 2 (Youtube): Make sure you click "watch in high quality" Session 3 Part 2 (HD Version): Vimeo looks much better I'll post up more of the footage later in the week and try to put together a nice edited version. IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | Looking good. I have a few suggestions if you don't mind. 1) You can carry a lot more speed through hogpen. Get on the throttle earlier and use all of that track mid-turn on the outside. You really shouldn't have to move the steering wheel once you turn into 17. 2) You can also carry a lot more speed through turn 1. Start unwinding the wheel and get on the throttle sooner. There's a lot of track on the outside there that you're not using. 3) It sounds like you're downshifting to 3rd gear around turn 5. You really shouldn't have to go down to 3rd gear anywhere on this track in an STi. The short gearing and torque make it easy to pull through everywhere in 4-6. Just a few things to think about next time you're there, overall though it looked good. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | Thanks for the feedback! 1) I agree. It's deceiving how fast you can go through hogpen. As the day went on I increased my speeds bit by bit but didn't record my last 2 sessions. I still think I can go even faster through there though than I did even in my last session. 2) Absolutely. I noticed how much more of the track you were using in your videos and made a mental note to try this at the next event. 3) Actually I was downshifting at 4. I kept changing my mind about whether I should downshift there or not. I tried it both ways but most of the time I went to 3rd and then would short shift it to 4th before 5a. I'll try leaving it in 4th more at the next event ![]() Thanks again man. Really appreciate it! Nate |
