I think it comes down to the gearing. If that STI has the same ratios as us, the speeds it is pushing make it hit 5th gear pretty quick on that straight. And as we all know, 5th and 6th gear are not the STIs strength.

Still a sweet video though. I wonder what my car would feel like with 350whp and only 2800lbs.

I don't know...
That STi's acceleration on the speedometer didn't look like it was really that quick.

The GT-R is just stupid crazy for a stock car. That thing just PULLS and for 75k there's nothing that comes close to it, maybe even for a 110k.

The STi did a damn good job in my eyes. The GT-R was barely a spec when the green flag dropped. Props for catching up to that badass

The Z06 does come close, but as discussed after Road & Track pinned the two against each other, the GT-R SHAT on the Z06 in track conditions by almost 6 secs.

The ZR1 has yet to be pinned ON A TRACK against the GT-R. I'm sure the ZR1 will tie or beat it but it will be close.

When the SPEC-V comes out the GT-R will once again POOP on Chevys Kingdong ZR1

If the GT-R lost about 300lbs, it'd pretty much destroy the world as it'd reach into a realm of speed and force that we've never come across from an automobile!

The Subaru actually lapped faster than the GTR.

Here's the thread detailing how we built it.

And some more pictures.

The sti was way slow for some reason. My stage 2 can accelerate a lot faster than that. After 100mph the sti was accelerating like a stock wrx
