IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | I did the full course layout at VIR last weekend with Mazdadrivers and as always it was a great time. The heat was brutal, on both me and the car but we both made it through ![]() All weekend I had a leaky manifold-uppipe gasket so I was a bit down on power/spool but nothing major. The second to last session on Sunday the front o2 sensor somehow worked its way loose and ejected itself out of the manifold so that was the end of my weekend, but up until then everything was fine. Here's some video from one session on Saturday and then one on Sunday, comments and suggestions are appreciated. As you can see, traffic was an annoyance and I think not having open passing in an advanced run group is dumb... 8/30 - Session 3 Part 1 YouTube - VIR Full 8/30/08-Session 3 Part 1 8/30 - Session 3 Part 2 YouTube - VIR Full 8/30/08-Session 3 Part 2 8/31 - Session 2 Part 1 YouTube - VIR Full 8/31/08-Session 2 Part 1 8/31 - Session 2 Part 2 YouTube - VIR Full 8/31/08-Session 2 Part 2 8/31 - Session 2 Part 3 YouTube - VIR Full 8/31/08-Session 2 Part 3 This ad is not endorsed by this member. And yes, traffic was annoying, but it was just a indicator of how much faster you were on this track than them. I saw a mustang there too! He is probably in the wrong place, drag strips are the other door. =) Last edited by Fran; 09-10-2008 at 10:15 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | Thanks guys, I'm actually using a ~10 year old Sony MiniDV cam on an i/o port mount attached to the rollbar. The trick is splitting the sessions up into 2 or 3 parts and compressing them into CD Rom quality. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | That's pretty much my same set up but the vibration during the straights gets pretty bad. Does your trick get rid of this during the compression? Maybe I need to tighten it down better or something. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | Are you using the red strap that comes with the camera mount? I just tighten that down pretty well and it seems to work. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | On the back straight a little over 150, and slightly less on the front straight. I've never done auto-x but yes I imagine a track day is much more exciting. Definitely more expensive though too. |
