Default 11 81 @ 117 using Launch Control

Special thanks for WolfPlayer for the help with Launch Control... and... Ed at EQ Tuning, Jeff (crystal_Imprezav) & Shawn's brain for all the advice, dyno plots etc...

I was limited to 26psi due to lacking fuel (850 injectors, stock fuel regulator, one fuel pump = not enough fuel for more than 26psi)

Sill was able to get into the 11's.... the launch control works GREAT to assist with improved take off. I actually think it causes less shock to the driveline as compared to my normal launch (pump throttle & step off clutch like you would step off a pile of warm dog $h!t with bare foot)

Anyway.. I updated my webpage with a low quality (48meg) and HQ in cabin video. You can access by following steps below:

To access:
  • Click this link: N8RWS WEBPAGE
  • Click the STi icon
  • Go to bottom of page and select the "Video Recordings HD" link and follow instructions for the video you want to see.
Here is the the dyno plot made an hour before track time:

few questions:
1. what is FFS set to? (guessing 7000?)
2. why was it beeping near the end of the run and what lights went on after the run?
3. you remember times of cars that went before you?

good run though anyway, as usual pleasure to watch in HD. can get some of that adrenaline you get

I don't mind sharing it but ... I had to trick over the ECU because I ran out of headroom with StreetTUNER intake cal (it only allows up to 500 grams per second airflow and I needed more). I registered the injectors as 20% smaller than the 850's installed... this allowed me to reduce the intake cal by 20%.

Here is a link but please remember that the values are 20% lower than if injectors were scalled correctly. KSTech intake cal

Also.. I am having one he!! of a time getting the idle and low throttle set correctly.. it bucks and almost stalled out all the time.. have you figured out how to get rid of that?

FFS was set to 6950 on.. 6900 off.. I had it set lower but it caused me to take a nose dive in between shifts...

The beeping was my EGT warning going off.. I was running way too lean at 5500 RPM in the lower gears (pump/injector issue).. I was at 1650F EGT when you heard beep

Light were caused by engine stalling when I pushed in clutch after the run. I am having trouble getting the 83mm intake dialed in for idle...

I don't remember what the two Nova's ran... the green one did a cool wheelie didn't he...

I'm trying to get my car tuned(not by me though) and wanted a close scaling for the tuner. I already knew about the idle issues it would bring about. I read that these big mafs need a high idle, like 1k-1200rpm to help combat the stall issue. Scaling back the injectors will cause a bucking at partial throttle and tip in. I use 650cc inj now and my 1st tuner scaled them as 850's than scaled them back like you are saying. Car drove horrible unless WOT. Got retuned and had injectors scaled properly, no negative correction, and it is ALOT better until learned knock correction picks up from poor gas.
I got a dom3,perrin fmic, pe850's, and the KST 83mm cai waiting to go on. Trying to find SOMEBODY that will tune my setup. My intake I chose and the HKS EVC6 controller for build are pushing tuners away. I've been trying to read up on the self tuning for streetracer to decide if I want to try over the fall winter and just do it myself. But I haven't tuned anything before and my knowledge is small. I greatly appreciate the link to the intake scaling. I'll probably PM you down the road to see how you made out and what you ended up doing. Good luck man.
