| STI Driver | oh, cause during the whole video, everyone wanted to know what if the S2k passed the GST. And it says no passing anyway? |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | Is the L still running the 4 piston Alcon brakes? It looks like the S2k was braking much later and closing the gap the most there. Some 6 piston calipers might help out for such a serious track car. |

The C-West Honda S2000 weighs several hundred pounds less than the GST Motorsports L, so that's a big difference in braking. In addition, that was the first lap I've ever done on Hankook C-91 tires, which are significantly more grippy than the other tires we were running. I was trying to figure out what the limits were and not getting the most out of what they could give. Also, the lines I was taking deliberately sacrificed some apex speed in order to give a straighter shot out of the corners, which let me get to full throttle earlier and let the motor do it's thing. Lastly, the Alcon 4 pots we were using had more than enough force to lock up the tires at any point throughout our sessions, so we would not see any benefit to moving to a 6 pot set up. I watched a show on speed that interviewed the S2000 tuning shop and they mentioned that they are developing more power for the car in the future. Although it looks like they are starting to have trouble putting down the power they are currently making. |
