IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | Well I made it out to my second instructed course on Friday which was amazing. It was hosted by Cascade Sports Car Club at Portland International Raceway. The course was actually extremely challenging and it took quite a few laps to figure out braking zones and a good point of entry for the turns. But overall it was a great experience and I would suggest anyone that wants to push there street car to the limits this would be the place to do it. The only problem I had all day was towards the end of the day when the track temp was up around 140 degrees. The car started to get a little warmer than usual and that made me nervous so I backed off and called it a day. It seemed that a lot of the cars out there were not enjoying the triple digits. I hope that when I am back down there on Sept 4th it will be a much cooler day. Hope to see some of you at the track next time. ![]() Nick Second Session Part 1 YouTube - Second Session Portland August 15, 2008 Second Session Part 2 YouTube - PIR Second Session Part 2 Third Session Part 1 YouTube - Third Session Portland Part 1 Third Session Part 2 YouTube - Third Session PIR August 15,2008 Part 2 This ad is not endorsed by this member. EBC 3g rotors front and rear with the front dust shield removed for more cooling, EBC Yellow Brake Pads, PIA custom made brake lines, Super blue fluid. I love the new setup it is working wonders. | |

Anyone I can, almost all driving clubs will allow you to run with them as long as you have had some previous experience. Some also have instructors out there even if it is your first time out. Motorsportsreg.com is the website I find out about most of the lapping days I do. Also just searching your local driving clubs helps as well. Just start looking around and don't be shy to email event organizers about questions and concerns you have, they love bringing more people into the sport. This is how I was able to go lapping with Lambos and Aston Martin's the other week. I just kept my eyes open on the internet and was able to kick some of the supercars butts at the track. Good luck and I am going to try and maybe start hosting a website to get some of us track junkies out together more often. TTYL Nick This ad is not endorsed by this member.
