![]() These cars must remain STOCK, cept for safety and other nominal aspects. Thats the challenge! Secondly, there is a very significant difference between a 328 and an M3. Making your previous statement wrong and misleading. It's OK to love your STI, but no need to bolster it by ridiculous comments .-Garrett

I must be blind because I thought they were sponsor decals. Vents were the first thing I looked for and I couldn't find clear evidence of vents. Even if they were vents, it's possible that they'd still be allowed under the rules for the lesser cars (e.g. 325, 328 and 330). I'm certainly not familiar with the class rules for specific cars being run on the Nurbugring. When I look at the video at 6:36 and evaluate the shape of the air intake for the radiator and brakes, they don't quite look like M3 opening. They look more like 325 or 328 openings. But it's only possible to get a quick glimpse in the video, so it's tough to make the call. As the cars go past and we're able to see the rear of the BMW it looks like the exhaust opening is on the left rather than in the center. That would be an indication of a 325, 328, or 330 versus the dual openings that an M3 would have. I could be wrong, but I'm still going to say that it's not an M3. Here's a link to the results for the 2008 24 Hours. Result Database - 36. ADAC Zurich 24h-Race #83 BMW M3 - appears it was a DNF. (Class SP5) #86 2008 STi - finished 58th - 24 laps back from the overall winner. (Class SP6) (Winner in SP6 was the BMW Z4 Coupe that finished 4th overall and 4 laps back from the overall winner.) Other BMW M3s finished in 6th, 24th, 25th, 30th, 33rd, 34th, etc. None that I checked were in the same class as the '08 STi. By the way, #86 the '08 STi was not the top finisher for Subaru. That was #102 that finished in 40th (Class SP3T). Gary Last edited by upncummr; 07-31-2008 at 12:51 PM.

I'm not sure what you mean by knee jerked and I certainly don't know why you're calling anyone a monkey. But I guess it doesn't really matter. (There seems to be a general lack of civility in the forums these days.....not just in this thread but in others as well.) Gary Last edited by upncummr; 07-31-2008 at 02:25 PM.
