Yeah, stock its no contest on the straights. However, the Evo block is indestuctable so mod for mod and dollar for dollar the Evo will stomp the STI on the straights after about Stage 2, plus the stock turbo produces more boost for a smaller displacement. Anyways...great vid and I love my STI!

Was it me or did it sound like the STI had an exhaust? All I heard was the STI and not the Evo lol.

Cool race none the less.

Your thinking about the 4G63 which is an iron block(Evo VIII-IX); the new Evo X has the 4B11 which is an aluminum block. Not word on how internals will hold up. I don't think they've gotten 500awhp yet, but I haven't been keeping up honestly. lol IMO the 4B11 won't come close to breaking 670ish on stock internals like the 4G63 did.

Why in the F**K would Mitsu do that? So they took their indestructible block and replaced it with Al...then took the awesome car (the MR) and gave it a useless transmission?!?! No wonder they aren't selling....I think I will still buy an Evo 8/9 in a year or so once my wife gets over the STi.

If you look at their other video, it says the STI is stage four.
YouTube - APT 2008 STi vs evo x and 1/4 mile run
Looks to have an APS cold air intake, Perrin inlet, HKS grounding kit, HKS SSQQ, Tein coilovers, Koyo radiator, Perrin exhaust, possibly bigger TMIC. Not sure on the turbo setup as you can not see a rotated setup. Still runs the quarter in 11.8, pretty good.

I honestly have NO idea. But on the brightside the X is making around 330awhp with just a tune and a boost controller on a dynojet. Yeah they make power EASILY. lol

That is NUTS. I wonder how the stage 1 (tune only) power curves of both cars look.
