That was a given. When ever you hear the words "comparison" & "GT-R" in the same sentence you should already know the outcome

Yeah, but it just sucks the the STI couldn't beat any of the other cars. Was an odd test though. Since when is the stock 911 considered a track car? Thought they might use a GT3, but whatever.

Yeah what are you thinking... All those cars cost atleast another 35,000 dollars more than the STI... Add 35,000 dollars in mods to the STI then compare. Give me a break, Break me off a piece of that kit kat bar. Damn

In a way that could be considered a good thing. There aren't too many 30K cars that can be compared to cars of that caliber. BTW the EvoX was listed cheaper than the STI.

These comparisons are use less mainly because there is too many factors as to which car performed better. For example, Driver Error. Plus they said in the write up that they missed shifts in the STi. Just my 2 cents though..

throw 4K in mods (TBE, AP and Pully) on the STI (forget 35K in mods)....and we'd be up there in R8 land. might not be up there with the GTR - but ****...the GTR just beat out the Z06 and the TT 911 in Automobile mag.

GTR is king...and STI with a few mods is...ahhh...Queen. - you get my point.

They hit the nail on the head in article...no one else would give them a car to get embarassed by the GTR. The comparison was a win-win for every car, even the R8. The GTR was suppose to slaughter everyone, and the fact that the others could even stay within sight of it only bodes well for them. I was a little disapointed that the STI couldn't beat anyone in anything...except in looking the worst

Add this to the ever growing list of bad reviews for the new STI. In the latest edition of Automobile, they said the STI's steering was a "complete disaster" and rated it last against even the VW R33.

On the other hand, consider the class of car the STi is being compared to, and the level of performance that it is always associated with. World class!

Crappy comparison, prices are too different and even still the STI is only 6 seconds slower on the road and a lot cheaper. If you were to compare them taking into account the price the STI is second to the Evo and third is the GTR. And if you were to mod these cars the easiest ones to modify are the STI and the Evo. But this leads us to the Evo's new technology and how reliable it is. The STI is my pick and that is why.

It's apples to oranges.. but it's still a little disappointing. With only seconds between the times, I think driver error plays a much larger part than it was credited with.
Regardless, and even with driver error in play, it seems the GT-R does completely dominate.

Put those cars in the dirt and we'll see a completely different outcome. =) Rally ftw!
