I would love to abuse an STI like that for one day. Not mine of course!

Maybe the STI was running some crappy snow tires?

I have done 7k rpm clutch drops and spun less. And it looks like the front tires were spinning as well. Either way he's gonna bust an axle with all that wheelhop.

I'm pretty sure he's flat foot shifting using the stock ignition type rev limiter.

I don't think you'll see any side loads when drag racing, so with the diff in either open or auto, it still stays at the default torque split.
Side G's? Only on the 05+ models. The system is mainly revolved around wheels speeds...Brush up in one of the many DCCD threads.

A blown rear diff will cause problems like that...

A blown rear diff will act like an open diff...thus a peg leg burnout. Not sure if that is his problem really...looked like he spun mostly on the right.

Looks like the STi's launch caused a momentary pause in the earth's rotation.

Looks like a very BAD case of severe wheelphop. With a few more launches like that.. goodbye rear axles!

awesome!!!

that launch = weaksauce

next time he needs to raise his rev limiter to about 10k rpm and just slip his left foot off the clutch. and get his AFR to ~ 17:1

Hell yeah, it's guys like him that the 350z and SRT-4 guys are talking about when they "beat an STI"
