HD & SD video of an Ultimate Racing Gated Up-Pipe

Hi,

I made a video of the "sounds of a gated up-pipe". Other mods include: K&N Typhoon, Hallman MBC, Perrin Equal Length Header and Megan 3" Turbo Back Exhaust.

The sound of the EWG surprised me a lot.... I expected to hear sounds similar to a open header on a drag bike but .... it sounds more like a lot of air being released through a 1" pipe.

I rendered both High Definition and a lower quality video. You MUST right click on the link below and "save target" to your computer.

Video sounds great, is that the 38mm EWG? I really want an EWG to free up some power, but I think I need some more seat time in a car with an EWG before I buy one.

BTW...the low quality vid is the wrong link, it's to the header comparo vid you put up.

It is the 38mm WG... really, the sound is not bad at all... I was expecting a lot more noise...

Yeah, in the video the EWG doesn't overpower the sound of the exhaust or anything. The only time I've actually ridden in a car with an ewg was in a car that had a 460whp race gas map on and I was too busy holding on for dear life to pay much attention to the wastegate.

The ewg sounds great but I have to admit I like the exhaust sound better with the factory exhaust manifolds. Does not sound horrible or anything I just like that rumble from the factory exhaust alot more.

Yup... me too stock headers sound better but the new sound is growing on me.

Hum.. that is strange... I just tested it here and got 131 kb/sec...

I don't have a dedicated server so maybe lots of folks are trying to down load it...

This video (73 meg) has a couple of short EWG blasts... I will make some better full blasts in the spring..
