Prodrive's PFF-7 series of wheels is manufactured using a semi-solid forging technique. This special process makes the PFF-7 (which stands for Prodrive Flow Forming - 7 spoke) wheel lighter than the P1 and P7 wheel but still rugged enough to perform through the most demanding road conditions.

Are there any 17" fitments available for the '05 STi?

I'd prefer not to go up to 18s.

The PFF-7 is on offered in a 18" rim. There is a GC-07 however that is very similar, and it a forged rim so the price will reflect it. But it is available in a 17".

So I'm going to ask a dumb question. Is the whole mystic about prodrive because they are very durable? They just seem to be really expensive and not very light in comparison to other rims in the same price range.

Prodrive Rims are some of the strongest that you can buy. Ive seen a Prodrive rim go into a curb at 20MPH. The suspension on the car had to be replaced as well as control arm. The rim got scratched up and that was it.

By far the strongest rims available.
