Default Gruppe-S Equal Length Header - gauging interest for GB

Hey all,

We just received the first prototype of our upcoming equal length header. This is obviously a prototype since the uppipe is a twinscroll design (that's for a different project we're working on). We're having the uppipe redone right now and it will be a 2 into 1 design similar to the one used on the APS header uppipe. Also like the APS and Perrin headers, this will require the 2.5L oil pan.

This header will cause you to lose your boxer rumble but it should feature better low to mid-range gains than our current un-equal length header. We will continue to sell the Gruppe-S V2 Header in addition to this new header. We will retail this header for $649 shipped and it will include the new uppipe. This thread has been posted to gauge interest in this header to see if people would be interested in a group buy. We would be looking for 10-15 interested persons and deposits would not be taken until we had at least that many. If and only if you are seriously interested (know for certain that you will buy one of these), please add your name to the list below. Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.

These are the only pictures I have right now unfortunately. I'll post more as soon as we get more. The GB price will likely be $599 shipped.

Thanks,

Geoff

they look beautiful. Would you be able to get them coated or would I have to send them somewhere after I received them? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, was it Perrin that was 4 into 1? And what do you see as the difference between 4 into 1 vs 2 into 1?
thanks,

i know as far as the honda/acura (non turbo of course) world, 4-1 will give you better top end power.. 4-2-1 is suspose to give you better low/mid ranger power.. so i dont know if that applies here too or not..

Hey Andy,

Thanks. We can have them coated for you. Coating would run an extra $200-250. The Perrin design is 4 into 1. Honestly, I don't think that one or the other is a better design unless you want to keep your stock uppipe. The only other thing I could think of is that the collecter is farther away from where the pulses originate. In this instance, I think this really has a negligible effect on flow though.

Whichever header I decide to go with, I was planning on keeping the stock uppipe. Will these work with the stock uppipe? Would the power gains on these really be more noticeable with the uppipe on? Thanks a lot.
