I am sending a sample to the finishers to get an SS STi Sphere coated black. I'll post up pictures of it when its ready!

Price will most likely be around $110 shipped for this item. I will be selling the sample piece if it comes out good.
Any pics yet?

I havent sent them for coating yet. I have to make like...30 of them all at once to send for a batch coating. I pay the same amount if I send 1 or 100 knobs, so its only worth it for me to do alot. It should take me around 3 weeks to get this done on the first batch

I <3 my SS Piston shift knob. A lot of people that have seen and held it want it for themselves. I have LoJack for it.

These both look really sweet! I like the piston style but might prefer it coated black - would be cool if you could post a pic of that as well.

Curious what style of script is used on the engraving - any photos of that?

Any issues with hand slippage on the piston, or do the grooves take care of that? Can you do more than 3 grooves?

I can do a million grooves if the knob is long enough. I can do any pattern of grooving you want on the knob. Your hand shouldnt slip on the knob any more than on the stock knob. I never had an issue with slipping during shifting and nobody that bought a knob from me ever complained to me about it.

The engraving samples can be done in different scripts, but its expensive to get done since I have to ship them to either the laser engraver or the tool engraver to have the work done. Heres a pic of one sample:

Heat is an issue if the knob sits in direct sunlight. covering it with a ballcap or something will drastically reduce the temperature.

If you are still concerned about heat issues, order one of my 2" Black Copolymer STi Sphere knobs. the copolymer is a plastic that will never burn or freeze your hand and I put a brass insert inside to give it strong threads and a bit more weight. Nothing is as heavy as the Steel though. Get both if you can't decide

I received this product today, and the quality is AWESOME.

Shifts are now smoother and more positive than before, and it's actually gotten rid of the the slightly annoying rattle that the shifter cable sometimes makes with a short shifter.
I've had that dang sound so long that I forgot it was there.
I just noticed that it went away with the Knob.

I've had weighted knobs before in other cars, and after my first one, I've always tried to buy the heaviest I could find. However, in most cases, the styling of the weighted knobs were not so pleasing and they tended to have a very "cartoonish" look to them--bright red anodized, in the shape of some strange object or something of that nature.

This one is really nice and matches my interior well. I'd honestly like a leather wrapped version but the brushed metal look matches the grey well.

I put this and my shortened clutch throw adjustment mod (an extended bolt stopper to remove the clutch pedal movement) must do mods for daily driving.

Also, I think the thing weighed so much I was undercharged for shipping. If so let me know, and I can make up the difference.

Shipping is alot for these knobs, since they weigh over a pound it has to go US Priority and insurance is extra, usually around $8-10 per knob, but that's why I raised the price to $95 and $75 so insured TWO-DAY USA shipping is always included with the SS knobs
Thank you for the kind review, I'm glad you enjoy it!

Like a dull gray? I am not sure how to get that type of finish on the steel. I only use the brushed finish right now since its what consistently comes out looking the best.
