I was just popping in here to update the thread, and thought man, I may as well quote this.

The spacers have arrived. I have measured them, and they are what we spec'd.

We have installed a set of them on a set of the rear dampers with stock rear hats. They fit as we want them to.

We then smacked the heck out of the tophat and got no clunk. Just rubber flexing and hurt hands.

I am working on supplemental instructions now with pics for the install.

I will then be packing the spacers with new, nice flange nuts (figure folks are going to want new nuts), and the instructions and then be shipping them on their way.

USPS priority mail.

You also get one of the thank-you-note-only stickers for your helmets. These only go out in the random thank you notes we send out when I find a couple hours to write some out and mail them.

Thanks again...I appreciate you sending these priority mail. Just out of curiousity, is AST-USA planning on engineering the rear dampers so spacers won't be required with the stock\Group-N tophats in the future?

but your making it right and the fact that it DOES bother you is what makes you guy's a great resource. it was a rather bizarre way for your supplier to jack you.
anyway, got my second auto-x on these this weekend, and if i can remember the car actually sticks now, maybe i won't cone my best run away

alright, spacers received and installed. turned out to be ~ 1/16in thicker than what i had made and, after a quickie test run, seem to have quieted down the clunking.

Actually, there are already shafts that take care of this. They just used the wrong shafts. Thus the spacer changes the profile to what it should be.

Also, as part of all this I have made a suggestion on a small design change on either this or the correct shaft that would be nice to see.
