What are people saying about the X-Brace:

Quote:
The X-brace is the last thing I've added to my car and it replaced a rear strut tower bar so I didn't except too much improvement over the bar.
Quote:

Wow is it noticeable! Turn in is awesome and the car feels much more together. This is only taking some turns on public streets a little fast or too fast you might say. I can only imagine that the positive improvement is even greater at the track. Well worth the money!

A common modification for those cars before the 2005 chassis came out, was to weld subframe connectors to the underbody to reduce chassis flex and strengthen the frame and torque boxes of the car. The difference was a lot of squeaks and rattles were gone, the ride quality improved, the steering improved, and the car even put power down to the ground better. Take this and apply the same things to how the X-Brace impacts the STi. The chassis is immediately noticeably stiffer even when I was just pulling out of my driveway to start the driving review. The rear package tray noises are gone. The clunking from my coilovers is gone. (I actually grabbed the brace after I had secured it and tugged on it pretty violently to try to find flex..the only sound I heard from the rear of the car was the coils on my coilover hitting.) This brace makes the rear of the car follow the steering wheel unlike any other brace I've done to the car yet. It makes the rear of the car so sound and tight, that the front of my car, even with fender braces, a 29mm swaybar, 443lbs coilovers and an h-brace feel very sloppy and loose. In turns, even bumps don't upset the rear of the car anymore. The forces that used to make the car jiggle now get sucked into the damper. You can feel the tires dance around and thats it.

Final Verdict:

This is a must buy chassis brace for anyone's STi.

See how that feels before doing anything with swaybars.

FAQ

Does the brace sit flush against the seat?

This therefore will allow you to understeer or oversteer the car depending on your driving style. You simply have improved control of the car and with that control you can do whatever you want.

Remember, understeer or oversteer is just as dependent on the driver as it is on the car. With a poor line, I could get in a S2000 and tell you it understeers and vice versa.

Are there installation instructions?

We can do one better, here is a step by step video how-to installation:

We got a total of 17 pieces. Some were spoken for because people had ordered them and were waiting.

Problems with supply should ease because of changes made by the manufacturer.

How many of the 17 are already sold? Is this really the best price on this for 10 or more? Wow a whole $40 off. I was expecting the price to be more around $400. I heard that # mentioned on another thread about this brace.

Free shipping. That would be I'm guessing $20ish.
