Okay guys, I have an update for you all. I sacrificed lunch to figure out this debate I've been having with the rest of the staff. I informed Yohann, Operations and Sales Manager, about this Group Buy and he tells me that it's a great idea. I create the post, respond to PM's, create the list, doing my routine things. He tells me a good hour later, "dude, those boots. What cars are you advertising them for?"

Me: "STi's and WRX's, d'uh!"
Yohann: "All years?"
Me: "yep."
Yohann: "you're gonna have a problem"

I'll leave the conversation at that. Everything else is a bunch of the expected explicit language. No need to share with you friendly forum friends.

Here's the deal, the boot for the STi, was designed for the 04 STi. Console changes from 05 and up is slight, but enough to make this boot go from a simple remove and install, to a remove, trim, maybe drill, then install.

To make your lives easier, I figured I'd hop into the EDO STi and give you 05+ owners a quick tour!

Ah, the good ole STi:

First things first, remove the shift knob:

Pull that center piece off, flip it over and you'll see the nuts you'll have to remove:

Now you'll have those pesky bolts. Push em up from underneath. Make sure you don't lose em. I had a little fun and kind of just launched them out from under. Pretty neat.

So now, you can remove the STi trim:

Ah yes...the two boots side to side (all I have is blue, this ONE blue to be exact.)

Looking at the underside of each boot, you'll notice the stock one is nice and smooth, and the Z/S boot has these little "bumps" that just stick out for no apparent reason. They have holes in them, so you think they'd be used for something. I'm assuming the same "base" is used for the WRX and the STi. Anyhoo, you'll have to trim off the edges so that it'll fit right into the housing.

Line up the boot to the STi trim piece, see how many of the bolts you can push back in. Now I'll review each boot you all receive and give directions, but if the boot comes out like this one, you'll all be prepared. This is also where you'll have to "drill" to make sure everything fits.

Since that was the only boot I had in stock, the boss wanted me to hold off on that part of the installation until we had some more. That and he didn't want the blue boot in the car. SooOo. I'll leave it at that.

Good news, the boots will work for 05-07 STi's...you'll just have to modify it just a bit. It's not really as extreme as I put it. (I tend to deliver news in an extreme fashion so when you finally get to it, you'll be like, "dude, it wasn't that bad. That EDO Danny is crazy")

There are a few members on here who have the Zero/Sports Shift boots and have them installed on their car already. (ie. Chaos311Clarity...thanks again man!) So it's not that big of a deal, I just figured I'd let you all know what you'll be facing. Like I stated before...I bleed pretty easily.

Okay, so I've got 10 people. More than what I had expected to be quite honest. So here's the dealio from the land of the rising sun...

I placed an order for 15 shift boots. I have a feeling I'll be selling more than that as this list constantly grows by the half-day. Nevertheless, I'll continue to bring in 15 boots at a time (most likely every 3 weeks from Zero/Sports' current inventory and rate of production) so that should be good. The first 10 should be receiving PM's/IM's from me requesting payment and all that other information within the next week. I personally want to make sure the boots are in good condition myself before they're packaged and shipped. Heck...I'll probably throw in some personalization for each and every single one of you...who knows!

It was probably pointless news...but hey...any news update is probably a good update seeing as how you folks have been SUPER awesome!

The fact that she's even considering purchasing a Subie is good news, I won't even get started on the whole buying you parts thing. That's something you'll figure out on your own, grasshoppa.

WR....and it's not World Rally I'm referring to.
