Looking to set up a ACPT carbon fiber driveshaft group buy. Need commitment from five or more buyers to make this happen.
Two discount levels:
First level with minimum of five buyers $999
Second level with minimum of 10 buyers. $950

Note to mods:
If this needs to be moved to GB thread, please feel free to do so. I'm, just gauging interest at this time. Will have to work out details and get vendor to set-up at their website.

3-21-08 Update:
You need to read post 96 and reply in this thread if you are still interested. The driveshafts are expected to be at SOJDM next week.
Final number of people will determine the final price point!
Good things come to those who wait!

2-28-08 Update:
If you have any interest in this group buy, the vendor has asked me to compile a list by user name and email address. So please start sending me your user name, email address, and year/type of vehicle ( WRX/STI) via PM, so I can compile the list and provide it to SOJDM. If we can get this done by March 15, it would be appreciated. I will add those new people to the list above and that will be the order for payment and delivery. SOJDM will provide each GB member with an email update.

I have heard the supplier is a little slow in filling orders, so show some patience. SOJDM does not want to officially open this GB until there is supply confirmation from the supplier.
Thanks for your interest and patience.

I guess the big questions are:

Which Carbon shaft?

How much at level one and level two?

Updated first post

Not that I'm counting, but level one is within easy reach based on PM's received.

hmmmm what are the advantages of having a CF drive shaft? can you daily drive w/ a CF drive shaft? is it stronger then stock?

im sure its lighter then stock and rotational mass would be reduced.

I would consider getting in on this depending on timing. Which vendor would you be working with?

Faster accelleration and smoother shifting. Some have reported that the drop in rotational mass has made the car feel like the jump from stage 1 to stage 2. But I'm not sure about that. However there will be a noticeable improvement in the feel of the car.

This is a good deal.

the car feels lighter, 5th gear pulls like 4th, other gears are hard to notice. The best thing is about WOT shifts, it is so smooth.

I'll have a full review of the driveshaft in my journal once I get more miles in when the snow melts here. (yes, somehow it snowed in Atlanta...)
