i find it interesting how "engine builders" such as cobb have the lightned crank pulleys for sale.. i still think it is safer/smarter to have some sort of a harmonic balancer..

Sorry I didnt read that line..I was looking at the "meat" or your post.

Unorthodox Racing has designed a new damper(I think the LS1) that was released at PRI....when I questioned them about this subject I recieved a "deer in the headlight" look.....

When you talk to ATI / FluidDamper and other damper manufacturers about any 4 / 6 / 8 cylider engine you will get an earful of technical babble about why and how.

BTW guys...I leave out alot of technical info because its taken me years to learn this info and its not free.

You need to use the term "engine builders" loosly...

Engine Builders would suggest they have a Bore Mill / Honing machine / Rod sizing machine / Deck Plates / 3 or more Valve angle machine / valve re-surfacer / hot tank / ultrasonic cleaner / 3 axis CNC mill / Line Hone machine / crank balancing equipment and polisher and alot of other equipment....And 96% of the major shops in the US do not have this in-house.....We have this and more...

So your saying that other builders are actually sourcing out their work. Then selling it with their names on em. I'm guess'n this means either, they are getting cheap work done, or jacking the prices up in order to make any money?

I looked into it more closely this morning, after our pm discussion. I believe if we do a GB on this item it will have to be in the 20-30 people range to get the price just right...

I'd be willing to throw my name in for a GB. Of course, I want one either way

We should see the first 5 production pieces in the next 10-15 days. I would really like to have those prior to the GB. I have a very strict quality control philosophy about the products we sell. So I want to see, touch, disassemble them and measure the tolerances first. In past years I would not have even spoke of an item like this until I already have done this but in the recent weeks I have been pressured by many teams about this product so we sped the process up.

So Game on in 10-15 days......

Well worth the wait. That level of detail is why I'm in line. That lack of detail by other vendors is why I won't order from them.
