Default Crawford Performance CP35R on 2005 ESX Signature STi

Ok, so recently we were approached by a customer who wanted to add a little more pep to his 2005 ESX signature Sti. Certainly seems like a logical progression, I mean the car already looks fast so why not add a few extra ponies and make it even faster?

So the car comes in on Wed (July 19th) and the work began that afternoon. Here is what the car came in at and four business days later (July 26th) the customer drove away with this::

Wheel Horsepower (Before - thin lines, After - bold lines)

Flywheel Horsepower (Before - thin lines, After - bold lines)

Typically we see 400whp on this kit
Avg. temp 70-75 degrees F
Avg. Humidity 40%
Avg. Pressure 29.5

On the ESX Signature STi (during baseline):
Avg. temp 93-98 degree F
Avg. Humidity 47%
Avg. Pressure 29.5

Surely the crappy weather put a damper on things. But, it still made some decent power

Mods:
Crawford CP35R Turbo Kit
Crawford TGV Deletes
Crawford Air/Oil Separator
720cc Injectors
APS FMIC (core)
3” HKS cat back
I-Speed USA base CP35R map on 91 Arco Gas…yes Arco!

Happy motoring Andrew! Remember your car may be faster now, but it will never be as fast as a CHPs Motorola!

Nice numbers Chirs and Bill.

I'm wondering if this is the street legal ESX or the non street legal ESX car. When you go and buy an ESX from the dealership they will ask you if you want more power. If you say no they give you the keys and your on your way. If you say yes you must sign a waiver form stating that you know that you are buying a modified car and the dealership is not liable for anything there after. From there an appointment will be made with ESX to install a TBE and tune the ECU. I believe that there is no extra charge for this as it is all covered by the purchase price.

ESX was on the right track with the uber STI, but they made you pay for paint that only a few people wanted and could afford. They could have sold more cars if the paint, dvd/nav, int ect were optional. The money saved can go toward a turbo upgrade like this. Good #'s in hot conditions btw.

Brakes are also the standard STI Brembo's just painted a different color. You could build a much better STI using a lot less money.

the fact that you would run arco gas in a car like this is beyond me, they make worse gas than the one-off refineries in the midwest. Shame on you...

We believe if it can run on Arco gas, anything else is just a bonus.

Good job on the numbers. The ESX has stock internals / clutch?

Yes, the ESX car had stock engine internals and stock clutch. We don't expect it to last long if you are drag racing it.

Sorry we missed your question the first time around. The ESX STi is the street legal version of the STi. At least that is what we were told, I sure hope it wasn't the none street legal version because it would be way under powered.

It isnt that luxurious. You don't just cruise down to Easy Street and they give you the keys lol. They send the STREET LEGAL ESX to the dealership through the transportation truckand there are only 40 so its not as if they have hundreds lying around. And the non street Legal ones are harder to come by. That is why I purchased this one, plus I love the color scheme inside and out and how it had the capability of being a great car..if its held onto for a while it hopefully can be worth a bit of cash in the future and can be added to my car collection.
