Default Finally Available: Switchable Maps with EcuTek!

Now available from Harman Motive - Ecutek Easy ECU!

EcuTek Easy ECU is a combination datalogging and flashing product that allows new and existing EcuTek users to flash different programs into their 2004+ Subaru STI, Legacy, or Forester.

Features included in Easy ECU:

1) DeltaDash - The finest datalogging software available for you Subaru. High speed data logging of all essential engine parameters AND a built in road dyno program - see how much power you're putting down anytime you want!

2) Re-Flashing Software - Re-flash your ECU with any custom or off-the-shelf Harman Motive map you like. You can have maps for 91 octane, race fuel, economy and valet modes, drag racing, or anything else you can dream up.

3) USB-OBD Flashing Cable - Ultra high speed and easy to use. USB means no looking around for an old laptop or fighting with USB-Serial converters!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Pricing:

The pricing for this product is mildy complex at it involves the product cost, an ecutek licence (if you don't already have one), and tuning options (custom or off-the-shelf). Here is a simple price breakdown:

Easy ECU Software and Cable: $349 (requires EcuTek licence)
EcuTek License: $250
Harman Motive Off-The-Shelf Map: $150 + $50 for each additional map
Harman Motive Custom Tuning: $250/hr (number of maps per hour depends on mods - contact us for more info.

-------------------------------------------------------------

To make this more clear, here are some common scenarios:

I Already Have an EcuTek Licence from Harman Motive: $349

If you already have an EcuTek licence from Harman Motive, the software is only $350. You can then purchase additional maps for $150 (high octane, economy, etc) or have your car custom tuned on our dyno for $250/hr.

I Already Have an EcuTek Licence from Somewhere Else: :$499

If you already have an EcuTek licence from somewhere else, the price is $150 higher. This is because we do not have access to your EcuTek map when it was tuned elsewhere. Therefore, this price includes a new Harman Motive off-the-shelf map ($150). Additional maps are available or you can have you car custom tuned on our dyno for $250/hr.

If you elect to have your car custom tuned, you will not be charged the $150 for an off-the-shelf map - just the $250/hr tuning fee.

I Don't Have an EcuTek Licence and want custom tuning: :$849

This price includes the Easy ECU software, an EcuTek licence, and an hour of custom tuning. If you don't want custom tuning, it would be $749 with an off-the-shelf map.

How many maps do I get for each hour of custom tuning?

As with all of our tuning products (including AccessPort ProTuner), custom tuning is billed by time, not by number of maps (quality vs. quantity). How many maps you would get per hour really depends on your vehicle's modifications. As a general rule, 1.5 hours will get you two maps on a car with basic bolt on modifications or a small turbo.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Please don't hesitate to ask us about your particular setup. We can often accuratley estimate the time neccesary - so just let us know what you need.

Best Regards,

Dan Harman

It looks good. Is there any "Street Tuner" functionality like Cobb? Or does all tuning have to be done at an authorized tuning facility?

I'd consider it, but I'm sort of concerned about this sort of thing:
Do NOT purchase an EcuTEK license without reading this...

Any comments? True / False / Plead the 5th?

I don't want to be a smart aleck (not here, anyways)... but the consumer needs to know these things.

Seems like more of a pain with less flexibility to me. Is it stated anywhere in the documentation that comes with Ecu-tek that once you flash your ECU, you can't go back - even when you return to stock configuration? If people are aware of this and choose to go down that path, that's great. But if they go down that path and they don't know that they may have to swap CPUs to try other EM solutions, then (to me) that doesn't seem right.

Just my .02.
