Default MadDad(TM) Clarity Ultra Performance Gauge System

By now it's pretty clear we've taken a majory product direction in 2006 in the area of performance gauges. Our origonal MadDad(TM) Clarity gauges introduced last October have been a massive hit, and they are getting even better with the Clarity V2's due out next month in full supply. The Clarity V2 series were redesigned to be specific to the Subaru community with the factory match face design unlike any other brand claiming a "WRX" or "STi" type look. The Clarity V2's use a near identical factory font. Where the Clarity V2's are "no frills" we wanted to introduce another line of Clarity gauges that have all the toys for those seeking the ulimate factory matched gauges, so for that we are proud to announce:
MadDad(TM) Clarity Ultra - Premium Performance Gauge System
- Advanced CPU controlled movement
- Diagnotics Power-On Self Test Needle Sweep (a la STi)
- Precision Stepper motors
- Premium JDM sending units
- STi style Gauge face Black-Out when powered off.
- 60mm gauge face with unique 52mm rear housing offers great install pod options.
- Advanced Wireless remote control allows setting:
- Dual backlighting color
- Dual Needle pointer color
- Adjustable Warning points for each gauge
- Peak memory recall
- Aux. factory radiator fan control tied to Oil Temp or Water Temp warning
- Turbo timer control(when used in conjunction with Volt Meter gauge)
- Best of all: NO EXPOSED CONTROL MODULE IN CABIN. With the wireless remote there is no need for an exposted control module in the cabin.
These premium gauges will have a premium price tag as well. Expect each gauge to run in the $225-249 price range. For purchases of any 3 gauges the remote controller is free and no other control module is needed so I would expect street prices for Boost, EGT, and Oil Press to run in the $699 - $749 range. The reason for this post right now is because we are going to build 30 sets of Boost, EGT, and Oil Temp(to test fan control) for some field/beta testing. These units will be at our door in about 30-45 days. Because we are testing the technology we're going to offer the 30 sets at a heavy one-time only discount so if you've been thinking about some other brand of premium functioning gauges you might want hold on for a bit. We'll be putting together a deal for the 3 gauges and remote control for $549. These being Clarity series gauges, they will have the same factory matched font we are doing for our Clarity V2's seen elsewhere in the announcement forum. We will post mock ups fo the Ultra's in the next few weeks, but you can trust they will look very similar to the Clarity V2's with all the extra functions/internals.
Initial beta run will be design for STi Amber/Red. You will be able to switch between Amber/Red backlighting or white backlighting and you can change the needle color to Red or Blue.
I will post a beta-order part # to the web site once we finalize a couple of details. If all goes as planned the full Clarity Ultra line will be offered in : Boost, EGT, Oil Press., Oil Temp, Water Temp, Volts, and we have work progressing on a wideband A/F, a narrow band will be available from the onset. Assuming test goes well full supply will come sometime around the June/July timeframe. So if you don't want to wait be sure get on the beta band wagon as soon as wel make them part available.
Same MadDad(TM) gauge warranty: 2 years (housing, internal electronics, backlighting), 1 year on sending units and remote(replacments and additional remotes will be available). Two Week money back gaurantee even if you've installed them like EVERY MadDad(TM) brand product.

sounds great... however, since its beta testing, that means there might be bugs right?

The Beta test is more to make some marketing noise more than anything else, and to get some general feedback before comitting to a very large production run. The investment to have these done is the biggest investment we've committed to in 3 years so we want to make sure it's perfect before we pull the trigger on full production. The true beta test starts the end of this week but only in house. We need to validate that there won't be any Subaru specific issues with tying in the Temp warning system with the factory radiator fan, or with the turbo timer function associated with the volt meter. The EGT gauge will be coming later in the month, it's just being finished. We're pretty excited about the line though. With the feature set and wireless remote they will be something quite different from the norm and in my mind still reasonably priced for what you get. The Beta/Intro Price(OK lets call it that ) will be quite the value for sure.

Will there be any dim settings on these gauges? Also, is the red/amber the same as the red/amber of the Clarity V1 gauges? I only ask because there has been talk of it being a little redder than the red/amber of the STi dash.
