Default RACECOMP ENGINEERING Kool Brake Kit.

We have completed our stage 1 "Kool Brake Kit". This kit was designed to kool and vent the braking system by reducing rotor temp. Initial test showed up to a 200 degree drop in rotor temp when using aggressive pads. We tested with Pagid Yellow RS19 and the new RS-29 pads. We designed these to work with any rotor, including stock STI rotors, however any 2 piece rotor is fine as well. The duct is made from 3003 and 6061 alloy. We used beveled edges for the 3 inch duct part and a krinkle finish for the powder coat. Included in this kit are the high temp silicone hose and 4 stainless steel clamps. The target market for stage 1 is the hardcore track goer or mountain road guy or gal. We will have stage 2 later with inlet ducts, but due to the vast difference in how alot of STI owners use the area behind the fog light covers, we left that option open. we did our intial testing with the open hose routed thru the fender liner into the area for the fogs. Even with all the rough obstructions, the kooling affect was enormous.

I got mine the other day from RCE. Won't be on the car till the snow around here stops (probably March) but here is my design:

Just need to figure out a smooth transition between the JDM fogs and the high temp hose. Any ideas/suggestions?

The kit is awesome. The powdercoated nozzels are much higher quality than I expected from the initial prototype pictures. Myles also forgot to mention that the initial prototypes didn't allow full lock to lock turning but with real world testing and many revisions they got it!

Also keep in mind this kit is track tested and track proven to reduce brake temps. This is the real deal.

Very happy with my kit. Thanks Myles!

Wouldn't the USDM fog bezel work better?

I ordered the USDM foglight bezel and they are a perfect fit for the 3" ducts

Awesome...very glad you are happy with it! Great pics too...now go do some track days!

We've also been looking into the JDM fogs bezels and are working on something...

I picked up some hardware from "depot racing" today to fit the JDM surround to the 3" hose. I'll post of pics of the parts once I test fit everything.
