Default MadDad(TM) Clarity V2's First Photos

While the current line of Clarity gauges will soon be gone(the last incoming orders of the current line are this month) we thought the timing was right to show what we are doing with the updates. The updates are subtle but important. Since their introduction Clarity gauges have been immensly well received. Our goal was to introduce a no frills set of reliable, affordable performance gauges that looked as great as they function and by all accounts we accieved that goal in spades based on customer reactions and emails we received literally thanking us for introducing them. However we also take to heart comments customers have to help us improve our products and even though our gauges have only been on the market since October we are already at the point where we are releasing the second coming. So what is changing:
* Mechancial boost gauge being replaced with an electronic unit
* Boost gauge will use 4 tick marks between each major tick so that every tick represents 1 PSI. Currently version every tick is 1.25 PSI. No real biggo but we figure on the boost have the extra tick will be welcome. The remainder of the line will keep the 3 tick marks since this is what the factory cluster has and we see no advantage for adding more ticks to the other gauge faces.
* Extended range on Oil Press to go beyond the normal 100 PSI that is typical.(most cars are pegged at 100PSI on startup).
* Revised sending units where applicable to support new scaling.
* Additional read point on the Water Temp and Oil Temp to make it easier to see what your temp at a quick glance.
* Font changed on all gauges to be a near identical match to the factory cluster. While no one has complained about the face on the current line, the reality is it's really no where near a match for the factory cluster font, nor are the vast majority of gauges currently on the market, so we flipped through about 400 font styles and choose one that near perfection. The V2 Clarity's will positively be the best matched gauges for a Subaru vehicle. Others might claim a WRX look but MadDad(TM) Clarity V2's will have the face to back up the claim.
* The MadDad(TM) Clarity branding will be visable, however, it will tucked in the lower right corner keep the center of the gauge face logo free, reinforcing the clean look that everyone has loved thus far.
* Will be available in STi Amber/Red, Green, and White.
For those not familiar with MadDad(TM) Clarity Gauges, they do a STi/Defi style black-out effect when off.
The following image is the final graphical mock up but it shows the font and gives a good general idea of what is coming. The V2 Clarity gauges will no longer be at the "intro" price that we somehow have been running since October . Still, you won't find a better value anywhere for a full set of electronic gauges with precision sending units. Boost, EGT, and your choice of Oil Press, Oil Temp. or Water Temp will still be just $395 even without the intro pricing and with all the updates. You won't find a better match to your Impreza anywhere.

Here is a boost sampel in Amber/Red to give you a better idea.

Yes! I can't wait for these to come out. I know it's petty, but the mechanical boost and 1.25 psi tick marks really bothered me. It's worth the extra 100 bones to get something that you like.

I am assuming that these are like the V1 gauges? i.e., no peak memory/warning lights? Also, will you be doing a similar deal if we order these with an ATI pod and sandwich adapter? *praying*

Thanks,
-Josh

We're going to get the full 5 gauge set one-offs expidited early next week for our final approval. If all is good as I expect it to be we should see a production run at our door sometime in late March.

Still no frills other than the STi black-out effect. You'll be able to purchase the electronic trio of boost, egt and oil press(or oil temp/water temp) for $399 which will still make these one of the absolute best values, and unmatched in their OEM look.

Just thought I'd point out something. The graphic mock up we have shown is just that. It is there to show the general layout and font so that you can see how these will be the best factory matched gauges available. But they are mock ups and a couple of things will be addressed in the final gauges that are not represented correctly in the mock up. The main point being, the Water Temp, Oil Temp and EGT will all use the same 20 degree jump between each display point. Right now there is a 20, 25 jump alternation. That won't be the cause on in the real mckoy. The production will all use the same consistant scale of 20 degrees between each jump.

I'm interested. Will the gauges be sold individually, and if so, how much will the oil pressure and oil temperature gauges be?

Also curious about the sandwich adapter...

Just a heads up. There is a revised mock in the first post. The scaling on the Water Temp, Oil Temp, and EGT were slightly off in the origonal sample. These gauges are due around end of March. Part #'s are up on the website now. Listed as MadDad(TM) Clarity Version 2 Black-Out LED gauges. The only ones posted right now are the Amber/Red. No charge until we ship. Ordering early just means we ship to you first when the do arrive. We do not charge for products until we ship them so order as early as you like without fear of being charged now.

I redid the boost mock up in Amber/Red to give a better feel for how the V2's will look for your STi's.

As answered in another thread by Daddy:

"It won't be visable on the gauge. It's a face mounting point. No warn light, at least not on the entry level V2's that are replacing the current line soon. "
