Just wanted to take a moment and introduce ourselves. For those that have not dealt with us or know who we are, we are a New York based performance parts supplier for a limited number of cars, including the WRX/STi. We have been in business since 1996, and have focused heavily on the Subaru market since 1998. What was so special about '98? That's the year I bought my first Subaru - a 1999 2.5 RS. As some might be aware, that car became a focul point for the parts we offer, and it was one of the most well known project cars out there for awhile. We turbocharged the stock motor, and held the title of the fastest RS for awhile (1/4 mile) with a 12.68 run. Shortly thereafter, I swapped in a built V4 Type RA motor and took the car into the 11's (11.88@118), becoming the fastest Subaru in the country with a verified timeslip (at that time). That car was built before there was ever a WRX sold in the US, and while I no longer own the car, I remain proud of what it was and where it got us! If you guys have ever seen the Motorweek video of the 22B, then you know who I am Yep, that tool talking about his turbo'd RS was me!!!!



So, fast forward to 2005. From the outset, Z1 has focused on Japanese performance parts for Japanese cars. The reason behind that has been simple - it was what everyone at the shop is into. We live, eat and breath Japanese car culture on a daily basis - it is our hobby as well as profession. However, we also realize that the mere fact that it comes from Japan does not make it "better" - as such, we offer the best the world aftermarket has to offer. A quick browse of our website will give you an introduction into the brands we cater to.

We are also very involved with road racing here on the East Coast - granted, its not with a Subaru, but rather with a pair of BMW's. Our experience on the track provides us with a unique insight into what it takes to make a street car a track warrior. From the time I got my RS back in '98 I was involved in track days, and have a very firm grasp on what it takes to make these cars handle well, and perform reliably. As such, you'll find we take a very practical approach towards modifying your car. Since we offer a wide range of products, we are able to make recommendations and suggestions from a postition of candor, to ensure you are buying the right parts you need the first time.
