considering the spool characteristics i've seen with 20g's and green's with 3" inlet ... i think you'd be nuts not to. The only thing keeping me from a 3" green is the TGV being a irreversible mod.

If you modify the stock ones, they're welded shut. I don't ever see a need to reverse this, just do it Brett! For the amount of work to get to them, there's zero chance I'd revert this to stock when I sell it...

I've been reading about the APS solid pipe inlet...now I'm solidly leaning towards a 3" 20g, TGV delete, APS inlet. 'course I'll need a week off from work for this install, but it'd be worth it...

Brett I definitely will. I have been offline of AIM for 2 weeks now due to all the of the legal procedures getting up to owning the building now (officially on paper), to now I am working 24/7 to just get it fitted and running. All new carpet, paint, etc is up and ready to go. All of the overhead doors are getting a nice work/lube/maintenance. We're setting up a time for the lift companies to come out and are deciding on where to place the dyno, how many computers we'll need, phones, electricity, etc. All that fun stuff. As soon as I can grab some photos (probably today) I will get some up. The place is HUGE!

Hey Robert...I'm sold on buying a 20g from you, but still working on other details. I'll likely do the Nismo injectors, heard they're better at idle. And since I'm into the injectors, I'd like to do the TGV since it's free HP (do it myself). Once the TGV is gone...should I do the 3" inlet? It is more $$$ and time, and I can't be down too long since this is my daily driver. So how much benefit is there to the 3" over stock? Also mostly sold on including your SMC kit...
Any tuner can make the idle as nice/rough as you want it to be. The nismo are good injectors indeed, but I am sure you can make the same idle with the Helix 860s, save some money, and have that extra 100+cc of fuel delivery to give you more head room. I don't honestly know an exact # on how much better a 3" turbo is over stock, but I do know they seem to put down much higher #s and quicker spool then a standard inlet turbo. I wouldnt think the red would be as awesome as it is without the 3" inlet. We'll have dyno #s of all the 3" turbos soon and then we can compare it to the standard inlets that are going through the same place and be able to put together a nice side by side look at them all. Granted there'll always be different mods, cars, etc, but it'll help give us an idea. If you're going to do the tumbler deletes, just go ahead and do the 3" as theres not a significant price difference in the 3" products vs the standard inlet products and you're already doing the hard work, so you might as well! As Brett said the spool characteristics are much better, but I will hold all of that until I have some real proof for you (even though after driving a standard and 3" 20G car... I can definitely feel the difference).

I will be back in full force soon. Right now we're just trying to get the building setup and running. You can imagine the amount of work/stress taking a full load of 400 level college courses, a 1.39 million dollar building transaction, still taking dozens of orders a week, and trying to keep a G/F happy all can put on a guy lol . Not to mention our car still is not done, so our test vehicle for our new fmic and other products is still MIA. We have a full media crew though now and we'll have some awesome professional photos on top of our normal photos, videos, etc. It'll be stressful, but good fun I can't wait to see where all of this leads to! Take care everyone!

Also valvetrain if you are looking for a 20G, please let me know what and when so I can go ahead and place the order as they are taking about 2-3 weeks to make at this moment due to such high demand. When we're finished we're going to stock about 20 of em (20s/greens/reds), but for now to keep our inventory low, we're trying to just still with preordering each order. Take care!

Robert~
