This can also be applied to Aluminum shift knobs. Bead-Blasted Finish This finish is done using a glass bead-blasting machine to remove all tool marks from the knob to provide a perfectly smooth, consistent appearance from every angle. It reduces reflectivity of the metal, but has a nice satin appearance now. Shown below is a blasted Steel knob. An aluminum one would look similar, but more of a silver lighter color than the gray steel. This is a +$10 option to any steel shift knob right now.
