Default AMS Standing Mile / Bonneville EVO Build....picture intensive

Some of you might have seen this posted on other forums so I figured I would post this here as well. Yes I am fully aware that this is a Subaru forum, but I think this a very unique project that you might appreciate seeing.

Here is some info on the car and its owner:

One of our close friends and customers Tommy P has decided to build a REALLY cool car for a unique form of racing. Tommy is no newbie to motorsports either. You might remember his red evo from a past sport compact car ultimate street car challenge. His car dominated just about every event until he had an oil pump failure on the last leg costing him the event.

Hes not one to be defeated though as he now brings his pride and joy to AMS to help team up with us on building a MPH monster! The car just showed up today but you can already see its got some nice work done to it. I will keep you all updated in this thread as we modify this EVO for some standing mile competition and to even compete on the Bonneville salt flats!

Pictures as the car arrived here at AMS at the end of January 2008:

June 30th:

We have fabbed up mounting for the cooler in the back of the car. The next step is to plumb the cooler and strap it down for safety. We are also putting finishing touches on the seat mounting and we are reworking the crossbars in the front driver door to allow for more room for ease of exit.

Here are some pics:

Turbo outlet pipe.

Feed pipe to the air to water intercooler. We used stainless steel instead of aluminum pipe for added safety

Matt working on the driver's seat bracket.

Matt forming the roof fin rails.

Finished roof fin formed to the shape of the roof.

Are you using a "Burns" merger collector on that exhaust manifold by any chance?

Wow! Truely amazing build guys. The fab you guys are doing is just nuts. Routing the intercooler inside the car, I love unique ideas. Can't wait to see this monster at the strip!

I see it too. Nice touch.

Question: Why are you guys going with a Kirkey seat? What is the total weight of that seat? Curiousity has got me on that one.....
