Default Hands down, the best VF39 to come across my dyno...

Talk about all the right prep, with all the right supporting mods!

'05 STI
Stock VF39
DW850's
Spearco TMIC
P&L Tial BOV kit
P&L Signature Series Exhaust
P&L HighFLO intake
P&L 44MM EWG kit
AP v2
93 octane

That's an 18G style power curve on a VF39. We're talking holding within 16 HP from the peak HP figure, at redline!

/giggle

I love it when the right parts come together!

-Jorge

Those are great numbers. I'm running at 312whp and 337wtq on a dynojet with the following:

2005
COBB AP
Turbo: Stock
Intercooler: Stock
Injectors: Stock
Intake/Inlet: APS CAI 65mm
Headers: Stock
Uppipe: Stock
Downpipe: Helix Catted DP
CBE: Borla full 3inch
Other Power Mods: Walbro 255lph

Would a bigger TMIC, headers and injectors yield a noticable gain?

Here's the log before we get too far along.

IUSTI: Honestly, I don't know. The key here isn't the fact of the numbers, frankly, to compare a number on different days, and dynos is pointless.

The fact here that makes me giggle (and ask anyone who's met me... I'm STONE cold when it comes to my professional demeanor) out loud is how well it's HOLDING HP.... where VF39's drop, and drop HARD towards redline.

There is an honest to goodness 15-30 WHP gain at 7k RPM vs other VF39s on our dyno.

Yep, I'm not a boost or timing whore, I believe in improving power by maximizing volumetric efficiency.

This car is that perfect case in point.

You are losing close to 40 hp from peak HP to redline. Not the same.

Please do not hijack P&L's thread.

Congrats Jorge.

My question wasnt meant to hijack. Your first statement and P&L's later explanation later explained it.

What I meant by my question was if he thinks the mods he added to the car were the difference in the non tapering effect towards redline or the turbo itself. Sorry, after re-readin my question it didnt come out the same.

Thanks man! That can always be arranged.

IUSTI: Yes, the parts have a LOT to do with it. They all compliment each other.

Jorge- you think that VF48 I got for you will flatten my curve out like that with addition of your 1000cc injectors, P&P exhaust mani and x-pipe?

Currently on my JorgeTune® I lose about 25hp from 5000rpm to 7000rpm.

(fyi people, i got the 1000cc injectors b/c i plan on going bigger in the future- i'm not that crazy.)

after checking my dyno graph I have to say wow indeed! I drop off about 20-25 hp more then yours around 6500rpm. Looks like a great turbo and tune, keep up the good work.
