IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | Actually, just buy a Gruppe-S ELH. It is the same as the maddad except with the 2-bolt flange and no EGT bung. Gruppe-S Equal Length Exhaust Manifold I was considering the Gruppe-S version until I saw this post. I'd rather have the 3-bolt uppipe and the EGT bung ![]() t |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | no.... runners are too small right now the gruppe-s EL header header has my eye... i love the maddad UEL header though, great sound and perfomance... made great torque ...but ya... so thats 3 people for a 2 bolt flange... and btw, a 2 bolt is fine if your uppipe has a flex |

The 44mm ID is the same as the APS. I've witnessed this header on the dyno multiple times. It never lost anything to the stock header ... only gained power and torque across the board (with a tune). There are posts here on this board (I think under MAIC) showing this. I was at that dyno session. Granted, if you wanted to use stock EM then maybe you don't want 44mm. However, I definitely want a larger runner. t

If this header is 44mm ID, I'll definitely need to see some dynoplots on the spool. Thanks Wolfplayer for posting this announcement on NASIOC. I'm klattery there.

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (8) | Hi guys, First off, while this has the overall look of the existing GTSPEC, it is a different beast all together. It's not being offered under any brand yet. As was mentioned in the initial post, we passed on earlier design specs since they seemed to be a better fit to the 2.0 motor(and perhaps still a better design for the 2.0 liter US and JDM WRX and STi's that still use a 2.0). But I'd also like to point out even with our unequal length there are differences between MadDad and other brands, such as the use of a MadDad exclusive 45mm Velocity stack instead of a 48mm. So there are slight difference in the products, however from 5 feet away they look the same of course. Here is a pic of how the pipe size stacks up. The port runs are 42.7mm until two ports merge where it then becomes 45mm. That all leads into a collector that outputs to a 60mm inlet 3 bolt uppipe, and there again is the reason for requiring the uppipe(where else do you get a 60mm inlet uppipe). Note: The uppipe is included of course, it's not a separate purchase. The uppipe in turn has a 45mm veloocity stack shortly before it's outlet, same as we use in our unequal length design that folks are very very happy with. More to come.... R. IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | That's probably going to have some nice top end, but I'm guessing the spool will be a bit slower than stock. My other concern would be what happens going from 60mm to 45mm in the velocity stack. Might work out great, but will have to see in the dynoplots. Any comments on how this very cool design was developed? Thoughts on spool and top end? Are these manufactured by the same folks who make your unequal length headers? |
