| Authorized Vendor Car: 2008 Pinarello FP5 Fav Mod: New Underwear after a 147mph slide into turn 17 at Sebring in the rain....still got 3rd.. Location: Columbia, Maryland Posts: 3,356
IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (10) | This kit was designed to cool and vent the braking system, thus reducing rotor temperatures. Initial testing at Summit Point Raceway showed up to a 200° F drop in rotor temperature when using aggressive pads. Testing was done with Pagid Blue RS-42, Pagid Yellow RS-19 and the new RS-29 brake pads. Designed to work with both stock STi rotors and any aftermarket 2 piece rotor, this kit is available now. The Kool Brake Kit includes 12 feet of high quality, motorsport grade, high temperature hose far better then other options on the market. There is no need to upgrade. Stainless steel hose clamps are also included. The RaceComp Engineering Kool Brake Kit is now exclusively offered in dry carbon fiber to improve unsprung weight savings. The spindle ducts are considerably lighter then the OEM dust shields that are replaced during installation. Special intro price of $339 for the new Carbon Kool Brake Kit!!! Current applications are 2004-2007 STi. 2008 WRX and 2008 STi applications coming soon! ![]() ![]() ![]() RaceComp Engineering 410-579-1501 This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (10) | Thanks guys. My intention with these units was not bling. Clearly simple ducts are effective. What I wanted was less restriction and smoother flow than the alloy ducts( as in the welds and seams). At the same time, when my fab guy was hired by Penske it gave him access to some of his old Indy car equipment and so the CF ducts became reality. I remember the old ducts were about .5 lb(for both) and these are 1/3 that !! (stock backing plates are 1.3 lbs).Either way price didnt go up hardly and we still provide the GOOD pro level hose good for 500 degree interior temp, double coated hose and hose clamps. Again, the kit is a motorsport part and one must route the hose up to the front OEM fog light surrounds(which on the 06-07 is a great collector). I hope you like it. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (5) | Would these be okay to run around with daily? Say after a track day I don't want to uninstall them, I understand the effect will not be nearly the same but they won't get ****ed up, will they? |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | Yeah it's fine, I just take the hoses off for daily and put them on for track events. It only takes a few minutes, and the ducts themselves stay on all the time. |
