Default Reviews wanted...Gimmick Motorsports short shifters/bushings in stock early december

Thats right, The GMS shifters are in transit and will be ready to go on sale in just a couple of weeks. Along with the shifters will be shifter bushings.

Everyone deserves a choice and some silly adjustable thingamabob just doesn't quite cut it. For those of us that want a genuine short shifter to replace our standard one and want it to be solid and avoid the moving parts to strip loose or break. Here is the answer. No need to look at one place for a sexy short shifter anymore. You now have a choice and a much sexier one at that!

Designed using a factory shift lever this part will reduce overall height by close to 25mm as well as reduce overall throw by up to 40%. Will retain the same solid feel of the factory shifter. No quality sacrifice here! Not to mention that its shiny too!

All Gimmick Motorsports parts come with a limited lifetime guarantee.

Aftermarket performance products are designed and sold for off road use only.

These will be available for all 1993-2007 5 speed Impreza models as well as all 2004-2007 6 speed models.

Available for pre-order ONLY through Import Image Racing Import Image Racing Webstore at discounted pricing, once they get here, the deals are gone.

we are seeking a few customers to do some reviews on the wrx/sti models with bushings...2 spots available on each (4 in total) available (pm for details)
as always we seek independent reviews over manufacturer based

no ripoffs here...

they were bought from an overseas company, how is that gimmick copying? they are just being resold. i buy them from gimmick, i dont make them neither does he. It doesn't say anywhere that he made them either. look at other companies they but products from overseas and resell them, welcome to america. Go ahead and sue a Chinese company, i doubt they'll get that far.

Wow...

Not sure what you are all up in arms about. I dont have a manufacturing facility in my house. I just buy parts from people who manufacture them and resell them. I didn't copy anyones anything and there is no law against selling competative products in the US.

Whats wrong with offering an option? Its a legitimate part based off of the FACTORY shifter. There are a dozen different shifters you can buy on ebay made by bargain basement companies. The fact that I offer a quality version of it makes me a bad guy?

I see a GT-spec header that was just released that looks familiar. Funny, that same header is offered by Gruppe-s...Any ideas who made that "design" first?

There are a million companies out there that try to offer options for consumer's. Don't chastise me for doing the same. We all offer parts for the same exact car. That doesn't mean we are copying each other, it just means they are for the same car. I went to great lengths to make sure these look and feel as different as possible from the Kartboy's. I have had the Kartboy's in all my previous cars for that matter. This just appeared to be a untapped market with only 1 viable option so I sent out requests for samples from overseas, picked the best option, made my changes and now here they are. Plain and simple.

It's a short shifter, guys. They're going to look similar. Either you want it or you don't. There's only so many ways you can build one and have it fit correctly.

Can the attitude.

This looks frighteningly similar to the Kartboy. Can you tell me what the difference between yours and theirs is?

just follow the nasioc thread

If you thought our Hoes were tyte, wait till you see our shifters... - Page 4 - Vendor Announcements - NASIOC

cliff notes- accused gimmick of copying. gimmick buys from an overseas producer and resells for less.
on ebay you can find a turboxs cloned intercooler for much less. no one cries over that.
is it really wrong for gimmick to sell similar parts at a cheaper price? walmart does everyday. why jump on him about it?

continue on.

 i just wanted to know the difference, that seems like an admission of it being the same product virtually, which basically brings it down to price and preference of vendor.

You can all believe me or not, but all I remember about Kartboy is that they are black and fit very well. I had them in my 99RS and 95L and sold a few when I was a vendor and have tried finding options for years. Including a WRX style shifter I resold for a while that had roller bearings in it but unfortunatly was discontinued. I cant state what the differences are because I dont know much about Kartboy, My measurements I advertise for my shifter were given to me by the actually company that builds it. Nonetheless, as I said on NASIOC, even if the shifter appeared totally different the result would have been the same. I would be accused of masking the product at that point.

Also, just as I said on NASIOC, these shifters were on display by the chinese manufacturer at SEMA so dont expect me to be the only guy selling them. There is no exclusive rights to a part in China so anyone that deals with them can get this shifter. Im just the first which is a bad deal I guess at this point.

This looks like a blatant rip-off of a Kartboy product. A product that cost money for Tom to research and develop.

No- this is based of the Kartboy shifter.

Here are a few by another company that did their own R&D:

So, just because one guy decided to rip-off another, it is ok for you do do it too?

I have no problem with people making parts for our cars that have already been made. I just don't like seeing someone making the same part as someone else, labeling it as theirs and selling it for less.

Wait- I thought you went to great lengths to make yours different than Kartboy's? Now you don't even know anything about Tom's design.

Which is it?
