Default NEW Cosworth Oil Pan and Baffle

New Cosworth items that were announced during SEMA!

OIL PAN, Price is 550.00
Sustained high rpms or prolonged high speed driving will result in elevated oil temperatures. Additional oil volume along with improved oil control will reduce damaging oil temperatures. The Cosworth EJ20/EJ25 High Volume Oil Pan is fabricated from both custom and original components resulting in an additional 2qts oil capacity when compared to standard oil pan. Each kit includes powder coated oil pan, mounting hardware, oil pickup and spacer. Will not work with some equal length exhaust manifolds.

OIL BAFFLE! 299.00
Oil control can be a problem with high performance and high revving Subaru engines. High crankcase pressure along with the horizontal engine platform restricts rapid oil return from the cylinder heads to the oil pan. Pressure builds in the heads and crankcase causing massive blow by and power loss. The Cosworth Subaru Oil Pan Baffle has been engineered with diverters to control oil returning from the cylinder heads to the pan directing it away from the crankshaft. Additionally, one-way valves prevent oil from reentering the upper crankcase chamber thereby limiting blow by and preventing oil starvation during hard driving. Manufactured from stainless steel and installs easily between the block and oil pan on both EJ20/EJ25 series engines. Use with Cosworth High Volume Oil Pan for maximum oil control.

If you take your car to the track you will realize why these items are so important.
Put on a set of Race Tires, Coilovers, and a oil PSI guage. And look at the gauge when taking hard corners. When oil PSI starts to drop do to sloshing you will wish you had this part.

I have race tires, coilovers, and an oil pressure gauge and I never see my oil pressure drop to dangerous levels at the track This would be a nice piece for extra insurance on a car that's tracked a lot, but I wouldn't call it a necessity...

I'm thinking of getting the windage tray, but its probably gonna be a pain to install with the header in the way of the front bolts! DOH!! why did this have to come out after I already finished my motor setup!!!

not the way mine is installed. I have my header welded to the uppipe so I wouldn't blow any gaskets. Not 10 minutes anymore...

I have been waiting on this to come out, for a few months now, the guy on the other side of the pond had a great influence into this product. Litchfield Imports in the UK, won the UK time attack series, they are working with Cosworth directly here, and after having the race car pull consistant .99gs they started to have oiling issues, these products are directly result of some of the work on the Type 25.

Side note, it looks like atleast the tray will be a product that we can source now instead of waiting for the Moroso pan to come out. Combining this with an accusump would be a great affordable and viable setup for most of us.

Looks like a stock oil pan with a tray welded in.

It;s funny though, before I bought my first STi, I asked about oil slosh and everybody reassured me that the stock pan has some baffles in it. I dont know if they were right but I dont get a drop in pressure with R6's mounted.

The stock pan is baffled around the oil pickup. I'll wait for the moroso pan if anything. This pan looks all kinds of hacked up.

Oil PSI drop is a very common problem with the Non-STi oil pans. The WRX oil pans have a poor slosh control from the factory. This is almost a must for a WRX, and is nice insurance for STi's...plus extra 2qt capacity is a huge benefit.

As far as headers/manifolds, the oil pan will not work with most equal length manifolds.

Yeah I would say that additional capacity is the major benefit here. I think the baffle would be a good idea for someone doing a motor build who tracks their car a lot. Just out of curiosity, how much further down does this oil pan extend than stock? I think the stock pan with the Cosworth baffle and an external oil cooler would be a great setup for those who don't have pickup problems, but want additional cooling and blowby control.
