Default Shifter levers and bushings

Since it seems we've got a whole bunch of folks on here who are new to the STi I thought I would take a moment to post up about our shifter sets and bushings.

First up is the linkage bushings. These go in the actual linkage joint (some call it the trunnion). The entire purpose of them is to clean up quite a bit of that side to side slop that develops over time as the stock bushings quickly wear out. A nice side benefit is they also provide some a nice stiff positive click upon engagement of the stick, and make your shifter feel like it's more "gated."

There are versions for the 04/05 and also for the 06 models.

Price for these is $30, and shipping in the US is free.

Here are the links:

06 -> http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=81

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Building off of those we have added what are the two most popular shifter bushing options for Subarus on the planet. Those would be the Kartboy front and rear shifter stay bushings. These really clean up the fore/aft slop, and drastically improve the overall feel. Seriously, the front shifter stay bushing is typically one of the first mods people do to their Scoobies. Conveniently, we've packaged these two bushings together along with out shift linkage bushings in one package. We call it the Bodacious Bushing Bundle, and it goes for $90 (hey, it saves you a few bucks, and shipping in the US is still free).

06 -> http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=82

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heck, to make things even sweeter we've taken the Bodacious Bushing Bundle, and taken it one step further by making yet another package, and calling it the Super Shifter Set. This one gets you the shift linkage bushings, the Kartboy front and rear stay bushings, AND the Kartboy STi short shift lever. This whole kit goes for $230, and like the others, is available for all model years of the USDM STi.

Also thought I would add these next two items:

Finally back in stock are the TiC Rear Diff Mount Bushings.

For 02+ Impreza sedans AND wagons these bushings replace the stock bushings in the rear diff mount "dogbone" these bushings will get rid of that stupid high RPM/quick shift "sonic boom" you hear from the backend. See, the stock bushings are stupidly soft, and even more stupidly, have a void at the top and the bottom that allow the rear diff to move to much when your really putting the pedal to the metal. I guess you could say that the stock ones are stupid squared. To ease installation our bushings feature a split design so there's no fighting to get them into place.

Price is set at $40 shipped for free in the US.

Building off the great bushings above, we have coupled those with Kartboy's rear subframe outrigger bushings to bring you the TiC Klunk Killer

This is one of the great cost saving bundles that we like to offer folks, as it saves them a few bucks, and makes for a nice package. So, the question is - what does it give you compared to just the bushings as individuals. Well, either bushings, the KB outrigger or the TiC Rear Diff Mount Bushings, will eliminate the clunking/sonic boom during high RPM shifts, but when you put them together you get a greatly tightened rear end, and much better throttle response. This is just the thing to help put that power to the ground, and give you a more connected feeling with the car.

Price on this bundle is $70 shipped in the US.

Default what`s up kartboy guys.

I`ve been driving my 06 STI with the TIC linkage bushings and all the rest of the mods from the U$ 230 pakage and all I have to say is That it`s an amazing feeling been able to shift this precisely
I`ll keep moding the suspension and the driveline of my STI with your parts b/c your guys rock and the parts are top notch quality.
Now my question is about this linkage busings on my 06 STI .they went in the joint with no pressure at all and On the 04 STI of one of the locals members (IRISHSTI,Tim) we had to use the vise and a fair amount of muscles to assemble them into the Linkage. Suby 25( JOE) was surprised by the difference , and it put me to think about this :
You guys stated that on the 06 STI model ,Subaru made a change on the linkage, whats the change ? a bigger ID for the same bushings /
Even if Subaru made changes on the linkage shouldn`t the TIC bushings be press fit into the linkage the same as the 04 05 STi? What it worries me is that the bushings are going to be spining in the housing and so the sleeve won`t stay put and so on with the bolt .
I just want to place this so more people could shime in and give their opinions on this matter.

The wall thickness on the 06 is dramtically thinner than the 04/05. In general Subaru is using this wall thickness on all of their new manuals, except for some of hte 06 sti (still trying to figure this one out). This is the main reason we couldn't do a press fit like on the 04/05 as there is just not enough bushings material. However, once installed there should be no play just like the 04/05. Due to the thinner wall thickness the bushings also do not have to be as tight as there is less give in the material. This means that overtime there is not as much to loosen up as the material wears, hence the lack of need of pressing in as much material as possible.

So far people have been very happy with the 06 linkage bushings. We have no expereinced a case where there is more slop in the 06 than 04/05 after the complete kit install.

Just ordered the Klunk Killer and Super Shifter set. What's your usual ETA on shipping? I didn't see anything on the website.

Thanks.
