| Authorized Vendor | Kartboy order came in today. I now have some super shifter sets in stock, and I have a few more rear klicky kits in stock. Currently I am out of just the rear bushing, but if you ask real nice I might just break up one of the kits for you if you can't wait. |

| Authorized Vendor | good deal. we expect to get some of the first production ones in a few weeks, and if they pass some extensive stress testing we'll be releasing them for sale. Quote:

| Authorized Vendor | Just to let everyone know. The most of the Kartboy orders came in today. The backorders have been filled, and we have all the kits back in stock. You may want to act quick though because lots of people have been asking me about them. -Clint |

| Authorized Vendor | While waiting for the tooling to come in for the rear diff bushings Tony and I had some time this weekend to play with our idea for the heat shields. We got our samples of the material in and we are more than pleased with the results, and these are just preliminary. We expect our full blown prototype to work even better. To help you understand here's what we did. We ran two tests. In both tests we hooked a thermocouple to to top of the heat shield in the same place. We know we could have placed the TC between the heat shield and the IC, but this was just a test of the material for proof of concept. In the first test we ran just the stock heatshield, and in the second test we ran the new material. For the both tests we drove for a little over an hour taking readings every minute. The driving conditions were a mix of country road, interstate, and city traffic with stop lights. We then came back, allowed the car to cool, and installed the new material. For the second test we drove the exact same route, in as close as we could same conditions. We tried to mimic every nuance that we could between the two tests, including trying to hit the same stop lights at the same time, and high boost 4th gear pulls. The last four data points in both tests are interesting. The last data point was taken 1 minute after the car was shut off, and the previous three were taken with car at idle and not moving. Now keep in mind this is just proof of concept for the material. When we have the prototype finished we will run three TCs in similar tests. One below the heat shield, one on top of the heat shield between the IC and the heatshield, and one on the surface of the IC closest to the heatshield. Here's the graph. I hope you all enjoy. |

| Authorized Vendor | Good question - we don't really even know the full price of the material as we got the samples for really cheap just to test the concept. Then we have to figure out final shape. Make some full blown prototypes. Do more testing with the prototypes. Figure out cost of bulk materials, and manufacturing. Collect bids for the bits we can outsource. Get some one offs of the final product made using the outsourced bits. Retest extensively. Tweak if necessary. Retest for changes. And THEN do a full production run. AND we have to figure out if we can do all this for a price that is realistic for everyone. I know we could do it quick and dirty, but honestly I'd rather give you a well thought out, well tested, reasonably priced product. I've found it tends to make people happier in the long run. Short answer is - I need to gather more data this week, and make some phone calls. Then we'll have a better idea. |
