Default Air Tool/Compressor

I hope this is in the right part of the forum.

Can someone please reccommend a compressor and air tool package that is good for an at home garage. I definately want an impact wrench and wratchet at minimum.

Maybe not even a brand, but rather, what type of compressor...psi/cfm.. is good for a garage at home. If I can figure what specs I should be looking for, I can shop around more effectively.

I am not looking to spend hundreds of dollars, but I do not want to skimp out to save a buck. If spending a little extra cash means a much better piece of equipment, I am all for it.

I am sick of doing suspension jobs with hand tools...it takes forever..lol

Thanks guys, I appreciate all of the help.

-J

Porter Cable is pretty good. Check home depot or something. I think my buddy got his there. You may end up spending more on the air tools than the compressor itself.

Craftsman professional compressor http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes.
SCFM Delivery At 40 psi 8.6 SCFM

<!-- End prodSpecCont --><!-- Start prodSpecCont --><!-- each level needs its own wrapper --->SCFM Delivery At 90 psi 6.8 SCFM

I can hardly hear it in the garage and you can find it on sale for close to $320 from time to time. Get the pro tools too, don't mess around with the cheap ones.

Thanks for the info. You think I should stay away from the 150 - 200$/1HP compressors then? Will they not have enough power/pressure to effectively power the tools we use on our cars?

I don't mind spending the money, as long as it is not overkill... I don't do too much grinding...well not yet anyway... I am sure once I get the tools, I will find something to work on...lol

Thanks again.

John

If you'll be putting it in an attached garage you may want to make sure you get an oil-lubed compressor. They are much quieter.

Definately a great all-around machine and you won't disturb the wife/sig other/kids/neighbors. It's not overkill and you won't have to worry about whether or not you have the power to break loose some of the big bolts...plus it won't constantly cycle on either. Those little suckers are loud...can't hear anyone talk....and they cycle all the time.
