Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
I have a big floor jack and the Harbor Freight jack shown above. All I use is the Harbor Freight jack. It's very light and easy to get under the front of a lower than stock STi. I toss it in the trunk for autox events. Can't beat the value of this aluminum jack.

One MAJOR concern between the 3 of those jacks listed is the actual weight.

Both Home Depot Jacks weigh in at almost 60 pounds.

The $95.00 Home Depot Jack: 55.3 POUNDS
The $165.00 Larin (Home Depot) 57 POUNDS
The $149.00 Harbor Freight Jack 37 POUNDS

The other things to consider:

The $95.00 Home Depot Jack: TOTAL LIFT HEIGHT: 18-1/4" (4" min)
The $165.00 Larin (Home Depot) TOTAL LIFT HEIGHT: 21-1/2" (3-3/4" min)
The $149.00 Harbor Freight Jack TOTAL LIFT HEIGHT:17-1/2" (3-1/2" min)

I've had the $29.99 2 1/4 ton craftsman jack from sears for about 4 years now. It works every time I need it. It isn't a large floor jack like the others. I guess they call it a trolley jack. At any rate, its been reliable, effective and economical. However, I am getting one of the nice aluminum ones (with a long handle) now that I have a house and a garage.

I bought the same thing back in 2001. It still works fine, but I have to rebuild the jack soon. It's starting to slowly drop when a lot of weight is on it. The handle actually starts to creep upwards as the jack lowers. I almost totally killed my front bumper one time.

Make sure you buy one with dual pistons, it'll last longer, I believe.

I have the HF Aluminum race jack and it has held up well for the price. My only complaint is it has a limited lift range if you really need to work on the car.

It is perfect for taking to an autox for changing tires though.

I use this one:

JEGS 80034 - JEGS 2-Ton Aluminum Floor Jack - JEGS

It works great. One thing that rocks is that it has a fast-lift feature that gets it up to the car in just a pump or two. Weight and lift height are similar to the harbor freight, but there are a lot of little things (like the fast lift) that set this apart. It's pricey, but good. Considering how often I use it (two cars I do all the work on, plus tire swaps at rallycross events), I'm glad I got a good quality jack.
