Default Harbor Freight Torque Wrenches...

Yes, I saw the thread below this one... but I'm looking for something cheap as I wont be using it a whole lot. What do you guys think about the harbor freight 1/2" and 3/8" torque wrenches?

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

I'm not looking for snap-on type quality, I just want something that isn't going to break the first time I use it and is going to be relatevily accurate (i'm not building engines or anything). Do you think these will do?

Also, do you think I can get away with just the 1/2" drive one? Or should I buy both since they are so cheap

I keep a Harbor Freight Torque Wrench in my truck with many other tools for roadside emergency use and off-road use. No sense in leaving a Snap-On in there...

I use Craftsman or "better" on the Subaru and SRT-8. especially the Subaru because every damn bolt has a torque spec.

We use harbor freight torque wrenches to tighten up wheels when we take our cars out to the track. I would recommend a craftsman or better for any work that needs to be spot on.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Just found this thread which has some good info:
Torque Wrenches...

Ok, so I will at least be buying the 1/2" drive one. Do you guys think I will also need the 3/8" one? I might just buy it also because its so cheap and I will save a little on shipping...

harbor freight has deals
i dont think you will have a problem using them occasionally
im not sure, but i think you can get them (or any torque wrench) personally recalibrated every so often

I have both and they have worked just fine for me for a year or so now. I broke a Craftsman Digitork very quickly FWIW...

My Harbor Freight 3/8" recently went head to head with a digital Snap On torque wrench. The Harbor Freight was virtually identical.
