Default Trying to find a tire between the RT-615 and the P-zero M+S

Okay so I am going to be looking for a new tire soon, I want the rt-615's but the low tread wear and not so great wet traction has lead me away (Seattle weather). The P-zero's do not have enough traction in the dry for what I want. Is there something in the middle for around the same price that any of you know of that is stickier than the p-zero's but still has some ill weather capabilities? Has to be 225/50/16.
Thanks

If you "NEED" snow and ice traction, then the Toyo Proxes 4's are my suggestion... IMO it's the best dry traction tire of the M+S rated tires. I've heard good things about the ADVAN S4 also...

if you're looking for better rain traction look into the

Advan AD07 or the Hankook RS2 Z212 or the Bridgestone RE01R

both have better rain handling then the RT615 with similar or better dry grip.

How about Pilot Sports PS2, RE050PP, or Goodyear F1-G3? These are all summer performace tires that will do well in the rain. They will not provide the outright grip of the Rt-615 or the RE070 but you may not even notice that on city streets. If you deal with ice, sleet and snow then you need another set of wheels and tires or you will have to compromise on your grip level.

or the new goodyear F-1 A/S. Look at tire rack's tire tests!

We rarely get snow, ice, or sleet in seattle. Maybe once or twice a year so I can deal with not having a tire that can perform in those situations.

The AD07 and the Hankook are not available in the size I need, the REO1R has worse tread life than the RT-615. I'm trying to stay away from a terribly low tread rating.

Do not really need the snow and ice traction at all..

PS2's are not offered in my size, the re050pp looks amazing but the tread rating is still lower than the rt-615. A friend of mine had a bad incident with the goodyear f1-g3 so I think i will stay away from it.

Will check into that, they are a pretty heavy tire though compared to most in my size..

Well pretty much it seems as I am going to have to make a sacrifice somewhere in my tire selection. Can't always have the perfect tire for my needs.

tires are all compromise. if you want rt615 grip you have to deal with less than optimal traction in the rain. IDK why people think they need more grip than the 615 gives in the rain anyways. IMO dry weather performance is more important than wet weather performance. And yes I live in WA, too. I know all about getting rain many days of the year.

But the tread wear on the RT-615 is also pretty bad and will only last me about 10-15k miles which was one of my other reasons for looking for a tire between the two as the pzero's have a pretty good tread rating and will last a long time.

What kind of size do you need that you can't get an Advan Neova in??? The Neova is AWESOME. The RE-01R should last at least as an RE-070... and it has better wet traction. The RE-01R should be all STi's (that don't want to spend the $$$ for the Neova) next tire

I am using '01 2.5RS wheels which I want to use a 225/50/16 tire on.

I dont have a STi which is why you might be confused, but the people on here seem to be more knowlegdable and less rude than on nasioc.

Thanks for the help.
