| Junior STI Driver | Okay so I am going to be looking for a new tire soon, I want the rt-615's but the low tread wear and not so great wet traction has lead me away (Seattle weather ). The P-zero's do not have enough traction in the dry for what I want . Is there something in the middle for around the same price that any of you know of that is stickier than the p-zero's but still has some ill weather capabilities? Has to be 225/50/16.Thanks This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | if you're looking for better rain traction look into the Advan AD07 or the Hankook RS2 Z212 or the Bridgestone RE01R both have better rain handling then the RT615 with similar or better dry grip. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | How about Pilot Sports PS2, RE050PP, or Goodyear F1-G3? These are all summer performace tires that will do well in the rain. They will not provide the outright grip of the Rt-615 or the RE070 but you may not even notice that on city streets. If you deal with ice, sleet and snow then you need another set of wheels and tires or you will have to compromise on your grip level. |

| Junior STI Driver | We rarely get snow, ice, or sleet in seattle. Maybe once or twice a year so I can deal with not having a tire that can perform in those situations. |

Well pretty much it seems as I am going to have to make a sacrifice somewhere in my tire selection. Can't always have the perfect tire for my needs. Last edited by 02wrbrex1; 09-21-2007 at 10:26 AM. | ||||

| Moderator | tires are all compromise. if you want rt615 grip you have to deal with less than optimal traction in the rain. IDK why people think they need more grip than the 615 gives in the rain anyways. IMO dry weather performance is more important than wet weather performance. And yes I live in WA, too. I know all about getting rain many days of the year. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | What kind of size do you need that you can't get an Advan Neova in??? The Neova is AWESOME. The RE-01R should last at least as an RE-070... and it has better wet traction. The RE-01R should be all STi's (that don't want to spend the $$$ for the Neova) next tire ![]() Siegel |
