| Junior STI Driver | OK all... time for a bit of Subjective/Objective advice. I need a set of stock sized Racing Wheels for an '04 STi. I CANNOT continue to run with my BBS's at the track, I can't stand the thought of paying to replace one! I have read thread after thread, but there are just TOOOO MANY CHOICES!! I'm hoping you all can help me narrow it down a bit. I'm thinking "inexpensive" due to high risk of bending/breaking them and needing replacements and "reasonably light", cuz who wants a heavy wheel for racing?? There you go! Not the lightest, not the cheapest, just a stock sized wheel that will be used exclusively for racing. Please everyone, sound off with your best theories!!! I need to get this sussed out soon so I can buy them and let my poor BBS's live a happy life on the road! Thanx in advance...MM This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | i dont know much about wheels but i am looking for a new set myself and i came upon rota wheels, a lot of people are against them but their motorsport series are great, i have a buddy with a 350z on rota p45rs and he raced with them at pocono and countless autoxs. I am planning on getting myself a set of rota torques which are only like 650-700 for all four so they are cheap and so are replacements. They are heavier than the bbs but thats just a choice youll have to make hope this kinda helps |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | You want a cheap lightweight wheel? Then keep your BBS... High risk of breaking them? Unless you're Travis Pastrana there is no possible way under normal track use you are going to break the stock forged BBS. If for some odd reason you run off the track and mess up one wheel, replacing it would be cheaper and better than buying a whole new set of inferior wheels |

| Junior STI Driver | Thanx everyone for the input!! Yakmasterjack: as you mentioned, my concern is bending, hooking, etc which is very common when you "leave the prescribed course". I have yet to perform this particular stunt, but have certainly been close a time or two... Seems as though most feel I shoudl source another set of BBS's, which has been one of my top theories. I will also check out the RPF1's and FN01RC's. Thanx again!...MM |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | 17x8 +45mm RPF1 or Stock BBS if you want to stay 7.5" /thread EDIT: I think you'd be better off with the RPF1 b/c the MY04 STi wheels aren't easy to find since all the WRX/Legacy guy snatch them up for $700-800 for the set (without tires). Do RPF1s This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
