Default Re: RT-615 vs RE070

Great review, good points.

Regarding sidewall stiffness...
I once owned a CTS-V, the Caddy with the Z06 motor, and it rode on runflat tires...Goodyear F1s...that had phenomenal sidwall stiffness, as a runflat often does.
The tire also gripped about as well as any street tire I've driven on...Re070s included, they held on...handled heat like champs...had the fantastic turn-in...and the harsh ride.
They also wore out under 10K miles...the price of grip.

The fact that the Re070s are coming in 255/40/17 has me quite excited, but I'll need to see the price...as the RT615s are surely going to be cheaper, by how much is just a guess but I'm prepared to pay more for the Bridgies. I absolutely love how the Re070s handle the autx and the track...heat is shrugged-off and I have no problems running with R-comp cars...I never feel "out-tired".

Be good,
TomK

They're not going to be cheap, that's for damn sure.

I'm on my 2nd set of RT-615's, they are the best for the $$ by far IMO. But yea, the RE070 were razor sharp.

i've jut failed inspection for tires (245 RT615s) that I put on in march. They got 2 trackdays in them, and about 10k miles. i'm more than a little pissed about the tire life. they held like nobody's business, and handled heat, and were half the price of most tires on tirerack... but they had half the life i expected...

Awesome review ScrappyDo, thank you. The RE070 is almost as thick as the 235 RT-615.. ! A lot of meat there.. lol.

I don't like the RE070 in terms of lag of Hydroplaning Resistant. What about RT615? Or any other alternative?

i like the RE070 but they wore out in like a month lol. i had a set of re-01r's til it snowed. i like the re-01r better for some reason. and the tire im using now is LM25 and they are like half gone now lol.
