Default Repaired tire speed?

I had a nail in the center of my stock tire rear passenger side and I patched it and it looks ok. Since then I don’t feel confident of doing 140 + because I don’t think the tire will hold the pressure. What do you guys think. Is it safe to do those speeds with a repaired tire?

Not that I condone that kind of driving on public roads, but I did 140mph on a plugged tire and did a track day on a road course all day with that plugged tire too. Still using the same tire, I have not had a problem with it.

i worked in a tire shop for about a year at mercedes. You can put up to 3 patches in one tire without affecting the speed rating. THe only thing that i suggest is that if you used one of the plugs taht you push in from the outside you should get it changes to a two piece patch from the inside. WIth the kind that you push in from the outside it allows for moisture to enter into the tire/ wheel assembly. i have seen this eat the paint off of an entire inside of a wheel on many occasions. just my .02.
