correct, you run the risk of rubbing pretty badly on compression in the fender wells.

what do you consider "pretty low"?

yea im running the 44+ and for the street the t1r has held up rather well..i get good life out of them..its different story out on the track, i usually run a softer more track designed tire..usually whatever i can get from one of our vendors

it depends on what suspension setup he as also, as i sit im sitting on top of my tires with tein flexes and never get rubbin or compression in the fender wells

Heres another pic

suspension does matter, but ride height matters more initially especially when you're talking about a tire that is almost 1" too tall.

if you're rubbing the fender liner during lock to lock without suspension compression then you're f'd under compression, which is why I asked the "how low" question.

also, i've noticed that on my setup Zeals and 17x10s, i only rub on the tire during MASSIVE bumps and i'm not what most consider "low"

Would 245/40/18 RT 615's be ok? If i decide on 235/40's which would be a better tire: Nitto NT555's or Falken FK452's?

235/40 RT615 would be better than both.

I'd say the FK452s are better than the NT555s but that's b/c the only good nitto tire i've seen is the NT01.

At stock ride height 245/40/18 will work on a 8.5" +45. I havent had any rubbing at all. But again, I am at stock height (albeit with shortened bumpstops) and I have no desire to go much lower.

I guess I'll be going for 245/35's then. Car should be more responsive then as well right ? (not much, but a little bit )
or would 235's not stretch much on a 8.5 rim ? Don't much like the look of tires that are stretched too much.

To bump an old thread..., i am thinking about getting the RE01R's in 245/40/18 for my 18x8.5 tires. I am currently running stock suspension, but i am thinking about getting the RCE blacks in the summer. I should be OK with this setup right?
