Default My tired is borked

I hit a pothole last night and put a bubble in my tire in the BJ's parking lot after getting gas. I have already talked to the manager and left a message on the owners voicemail to get them to pay for it. I am going to swap out my rims and put the stockers back on until I figure out what to do but, how safe do you think this tire is?? Yes I know the rim has a slight flat spot on it, but I am not leaking any air.

UPDATE: I have talked to Scutti Enterprises (http://www.scuttienterprises.com/cc.html) that owns basically every building in town. I just got a call back from them about 30 min ago. I had to fax a copy of invoice for a new rim and tire. Their insurance company wants to see the rim and tire, which isnt unreasonable. We will work that out and I hope they will cover it all. I will then just need to shave the tire down to the same as the others.

Right now I just put the RE070s back on and took them for a ride. Not a whole lot different, but the turning response is much better. I wasnt going to push them as it is only 30 degrees today and the roads still have sand and salt on them. Supposed to warm up to 45-50 from here on out, but I will be happy to get the darker rims back on when the new one comes in.

Here are some pics of the pothole. Sorry for the quality, but they are from my cell phone in the dark. That is a standard size iPod to give you and idea how big the hole it. It was also about 4" deep.

Not safe... You might get away with driving on it, but what is the cost of a blowout on the freeway in the rain?

I was honestly going about 10-15mph. There is a corner right there that I came around and BANG. The snow in the last picture in the upper left hand side is the corner I came around. I dont know for sure if they are going to pay for it or not yet. I was told the owner of the lot/BJs building is a good guy and will probably take care of it for me. As far as the iPod it was the only other thing I had with me to show the size of the pothole I made sure to put it in a dry spot!

Please don't take offense to what I'm about to say:

I bet the stockers wouldn't have had that problem. Your wheel (Rota Tarmac 3s right?) bent and the tire bubbled as a result, I think...

None taken.. I believe tire still would have been a problem the way I hit the pothole and with the softer sidewall. The rim may not have been if it were the stockers (rims) or another forged wheel.

Bottom line, if/when I have the cash for $2000 rims, I will own them. In the mean time I chose to run the Rotas. To each their own

I was wondering? since you got a bubble in one tire did u have to replace them all or just the one tire? I thought on awd cars u have to change all 4. I have the same prob with the bubble.
